Epic Pokemonday · 6:47am Aug 17th, 2015

Okay folks, grab onto something. This is going to be the biggest Pokemonday blog post yet.

Pokemon Shuffle

So I've spent the last couple of weeks mostly just leveling up Pokemon and farming coins. I also went back and S-ranked every main stage through 210.

I won a Garchompite, placing 15k-something in the event (down from 12k earlier today, down from 7k a while back, YIKES).

The good news is...THERE ARE FINALLY SOME NEW STAGES! Stages 211+ have been added (presumably to 220). I haven't tackled any of them yet because...

...ESCALATION BATTLE #3! This time it's Darkrai! So for the next couple of days I'll be doing that. Once I hit level 51 there, I'll tackle the new main stages.

Pokemon X

My months of training at the Battle Chateau have come to an end.

I ended my training a little early because the last two Pokemon I had left to work on were Yanmega and Zangoose, and I honestly don't care enough about them to finish grinding them to the target level.

After flying around Kalos to do some shopping and wrap up some loose ends, I returned to Dendemille Town to pick up where I left off in my journey: the Frost Cavern.

After exploring the labyrinthine depths of the Frost Cavern, I fought Team Flare again, protecting an Abomasnow from...being legally caught by Pokemon trainers whose only actual crime was theft of Pokeballs. Okay. I got an Abomasite from the Abomasnow, but didn't get the chance to battle and capture Abomasnow itself. Bummer.

Having taken care of business in the Frost Cavern, my next destination was the blustery Route 17 where the driving snow drives...umm...snowfully. After riding a Mamoswine through the snow and catching a few new Pokemon, I arrived in Anistar City, where Calem showed up to challenge me to a battle outside the Anistar Gym.

Calem actually put up more of a fight than Olympia, the Anistar Gym leader, who I pasted with ridiculous ease...

I GOT THE PSYCHIC BADGE!

As soon as I left the gym, Calem showed up wanting a rematch, but we were interrupted by a Holo Clip: a pirate broadcast from Lysandre, declaring his intent to "revive the ultimate weapon" and wipe out everyone that isn't a member of Team Flare.

Yeah, knew that guy was bad news the second I laid eyes on him.

Time to put an end to Team Flare, looks like! Which means it's back to Lumiose City to check out the Lysandre Cafe to find the Team Flare base.

Upon returning to the Lysandre Cafe, I encounter the two dumbest grunts in Pokemon history, then enter the secret door to Lysandre's base, where I run right into the big man himself. He challenges me to a battle to prove whether I'm worthy to either join him or stop him, then departs into the locked base with a warning that I have to stop "the ultimate weapon" to save the world.

Yeah, I know where this is going. But now I have to deal with THE OBLIGATORY GODDAMN ARROW TILES AND WARP TILES BASE god I hate these.

As I battle Team Flare's scientists, more and more of the mystery is revealed, including the mystery of the stones on Route 10.

Upon entering the lower levels of the lab, I encounter Lysandre and his prisoner, who tells a sad, tragic story:

This is without question the darkest, saddest thing in the entire Pokemon franchise.

After hearing all this, I followed Lysandre into his the lowest level of the lab, where I battled his second-in-command. After the battle, the fat little bitch activates the weapon ANYWAY, and this huge crystal monstrosity bursts out of the ground in Geosenge Town.

Guess I'm off to Geosenge to put a stop to this nonsense.

At Geosenge, Calem and I enter Team Flare's secret HQ, where I battle Lysandre again. Even though I win, he refuses to stop the weapon. The only way to stop it now is by confronting its power source...

Xerneas.

After battling my way past lots of Team Flare members, I encountered an awakened Xerneas...

First attempt, accidentally fainted it.

Second attempt, caught it with 30% HP left on my first attempt with an Ultra Ball.

I CAUGHT XERNEAS!

Of couse, Lysandre isn't giving up without a fight. He shows up again, wearing a new bitch suit and acting like a bitch in Bitch Mode, and challenges me to a bitch fight.

With Xerneas on my side, it's...not the easiest fight, but it's still over fairly quickly.

Ever ready to prove he's a sore loser and completely insane, Lysandre fires the weapon anyway...and it nukes itself, leaving a huge smoking crater in the middle of Geosenge Town and taking Lysandre with it.

Good riddance.

After that, I returned to Anistar City to proceed to the next town via Route 18, stopping off in the Terminus Cave to catch some more new Pokemon and find some stuff and all that good jazz.

The Terminus Cave, incidentally, is exhausting and goes on forfuckingever. X_X After exploring its depths, catching some new Pokemon, finding new things, and getting stronger in trainer battles, I head for my next destination: Couriway Town, where I meet up with Professor Sycamore. After he talks about Lysandre for a minute, he challenges me to a Pokemon battle!

His fully-evolved Kanto starters are no match for my party of deathy death.

There's not much else to do in Couriway Town, so after a quick look around, I head on down Route 19.

Route 19 is full of Pokemon Rangers and other trainers...who aren't that tough with my team. Halfway to the next town, cutie Shauna and her short-shorts show up for a battle! Yes please!

I beat the cute little short shorts off her, and then the others show up! Tierno challenges me to a battle next. Then, after healing our Pokemon, Trevor gets in on the action.

After battling and defeating all of them, they leave. Before she leaves, Shauna says some sappy stuff, then gives me the HM for Waterfall!

Okay, now that that's done, it's on to Snowbelle City for the final gym badge!

...except that the leader, Wulfric, is out right now. Wonderful.

I really hate when they do this to you. :ajbemused:

Oh well! Next time: Searching for Wulfric in the Winding Woods!

(Incidentally, got Yveltal via GTS.)

Whoo, lots of progress on X! Congrats on all those major victories, and bagging Yveltal! And I might take a page from your book and try to get past Lv.50 on Darkrai. I caught him at 5%, which is the lowest I've gotten one of these Escalators. I also got Lucario and Yveltal to Lv. MAX! I too was shocked at how low I dropped in the Garchomp stage. I got about 7500th with a score of 32000. So much or that Mega Speedup. At least I got the Garchompite, too.

New stage Starly has a special place in my heart... Because I caught TWO Shiny Starly in Platinum a few years back.

3326159 The only reason I play all the way through stage 50 is for the rewards. Especially the Mega Speedups, which are rare and precious.

congrats on your victories!

you're about to (and have passed) the two spots to get Glaceon and Leafon if you havent gotten them yet. an icy stone is deep in the cave where you 'saved' Abamasnow, and the mossy rock is right in the next area leading to where you have to go.

also, is it wierd that as soon as i was dont with Yvetall's story part that i sent it out on wonder trade as a way of syaing "I let it go and do what it wanted to do"?

3326913 I already know about the Ice Rock and the Moss Rock. I evolved Glaceon ages ago and I'm preparing to do Leafeon as soon as I move on to Route 20.

And yes, that's...kind of weird.

Congratulations, especially on capturing Xerneas and getting Yveltal. I myself am on my way to Wulfric to get my final badge. I had almost finished with the Elite 4 after marathoning the game for like three days, but lost the data due to a system fault. Now, I'm back to searching through snow! I'll get back to it... as soon as I can pry myself away from Omega Ruby! :rainbowlaugh:

Keep up the good work.

Congrats on all the progress you've made, slow and steady surely wins the race.
