Just some quick reminders and news items! CMPC Con, the Fan Art Contest, and a map of The Ocean of Endless Ice!
CMPC Panel
This weekend I will be part of the Crystal Mountain Pony Con. I'll be there both days browsing around and hanging out (track me down if you want me to sign something or to talk shop), but Friday at five I'll be hosting a panel on writing with Ponky, BronyWriter, totallynotabrony, and Pen Stroke! That's five writers, all talking about writing! With luck we'll find something crazy to debate about, like the use of the word "ethereal."
Anyways, it's going to be a blast, and you should totally try and make it!
Dusk Guard Fan Art Contest
Don't forget about this one! All those artists out there? You need to start sharpening your colored pencils! The details can be found here, but the contest is open until August 31st, so that's plenty of time to put together some sweet art to share! And yes, there will be prizes (including a digital copy of my absolute favorite book of all time)!
So, find a favorite scene (or think of your own) and get drawing! You've got a month and a half!
Beyond the Borderlands Map Now Finished
It actually turned out looking a bit different than the original prototype (not with regards to where everything is, but with regards to what it all looks like and the colors used), so at a future date I may remake this. I kind of liked the rough, icy design of the original, with ice shards poking up around the island edges and the habitations all being independently designed. But for now, it will work (fan art contest opportunity!). Just consider it an Equestrian version of the map—not precisely accurate with what the Ocean really is like.
Anyway, the map is now available from Beyond the Borderland's description, or you can reach it by clicking right here. Now you should have some idea of the size of the Ocean, where everything is, and how everyone's forces are somewhat distributed! Unless you did already, which would mean I did my job better than I thought!

Nice I like how the map came out. Though I also agree with what you said about the original. This might be a map from the Canterlot archives. You know a map drawn by someone who's never set foot in the frozen north.
