    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

Deepest Scene · 6:25am Jul 6th, 2015

Any of you remember my favorite "deepest" scene from the show? Where in 'Luna Eclipsed' Luna offers a piece of candy to the NMM statue?

Well, I think that's finally been dethroned. It has been quite some time since I've watched an episode three times within 48 hours of its airtime.

This is very quickly becoming one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. Every time I watch it, my brain digs deeper and deeper.

This is the first time somepony has bared their heart and soul in an emotional breakdown that hasn't been played for laughs or been over-the-top. What's more, Fluttershy is not involved at all. As I write out my new short story, I'm discovering more and more about why this is such a deep moment for both Twilight and Moondancer.

For Twilight, Moondancer is the mirror of an alternate reality. If the Mare in the Moon prophecy never occurred, she never would have gone to Ponyville, and she would have never discovered the importance of friendship. Four and a half years ago, it wasn't the threat of eternal night, or a trek through a dangerous forest. The spark didn't ignite within Twilight until she faced ultimate failure, and heard the voices of her new friends chasing her up the stairs. Thus they became the Elements of Harmony.

Which brings me to the point: for Moondancer, that has to make her feel fucking worthless. To have your best friend (that's my headcanon, I can't come up with any other non-shipping explanation as to why she put so much stock into Twilight showing up to her party) not care about your party, leave town without saying goodbye, then make five new friends within a day, be the saviors of Equestria multiple times, and becoming the royal representation of friendship? Yeah, I'd feel worse than scum too.

Larson, you magnificent bastard. I salute you.

I personally thought that the reason MD was so hurt was because she looked up to Twilight and really admired her. She seemed to be the only one of the friends to share the same interests and she may have even went so far as to imitate her in appearance and personality. I think that maybe there was a small rivalry of sorts and that MD took it as a friendly one that could bloom into a friendship. That party must have been a way of saying, "How about instead of butting heads and trying to be better than each other, we help each other be better together. Do you wanna be friends?"

Then Twilight left and she felt like her one true equal was gone.

Yea I actually rewatched that scene while watching the episode. It was amazing, when I first saw it I legitimately though Moondancer was going to hit Twilight with that stick.

my self I loved this weeks episode and for the same reason you have listed it just really shows how everypony feels.
as to the nmm giving candy to her nmm statue. well as a member of the Lunar guard it really touches my hart.

You got more from that episode than I did. All I got is that Twilight was her senpai and Twilight was racist by having nothing but unicorn friends... fits in well with your version of her actually :P

Wow. I'm sorry to say this but I had a while multi paragraph comment just now. ..

Until I got inspired to do a new AU story.

It's thanks to you!

Inspiration comes from anywhere! !

You know..... in a way this is almost like how they should've done Gilda's leaving scene from Griffon the Brush Off. It's how I feel anyway.

3211380 I do not think "racist" is the proper word. I mean, they lived in a city that was predominately Unicorn, and they were classmates in Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. Twilight, being as introverted and bookish as she is, would not have more friends than some of the children(foals?) in her class who share some of her interests. It would be like in our world, depending on where you live, your color, and your ethnicity, all your friends would be similar to you. If you were an Irish Catholic living in Ireland, going to a Catholic school, it is likely that all of your friends would consist solely of some of the children in your class. It would not make you racist, just a product of your environment.

While I did not see that scene with the candy, I do agree that this is one of the deepest scenes to date. and I would agree that they would be best friends, and I don't think that she would have been in a relationship more than friendship with the mare, it just doesn't make sense.

3211377 Haha, love BobTheDalek's stuff, and yea something like that.
