S5 Ep13 VS Shadow's Flare · 6:42pm Jun 27th, 2015
Canon wins, no contest.
EQ Daily posted ep. 13's synopsis, which is pertinent to Shadow's Flare, so I'm just gonna shoot the breeze on my thoughts and how it'll(likely) affect my story.
Slight spoilers abound!(for ep. 13)
The Synopsis: Princess Luna enlists the Mane 6 to search for and locate the Tantabus, a magical force that threatens to turn the dreams of every pony into nightmares.
How to incorporate Tantabus? It was one of the fragments of Nightmare Moon that broke off when Luna defeated her back in the day. Whether Tantabus is now part of Nightmare or not, I haven't decided yet. The synopsis implies that it's a force, like a gust of wind or something, if so then I could work it into the story. If it has an identity, personality, or irrefutable origin story, then I'll just have to save Tantabus for a future branch of the Trioverse.
This episode will likely involve the mane six going into the canon realm of dreams, which will likely shoot my interpretation of it out of the water. As far as I can tell in canon, the dream realm is sort of like where Twilight talked to Celestia before becoming a princess, only Luna can summon doors to enter ponies' dreams through it. Now we'll get to see if that's expanded upon next episode!
Despite all this, the important parts of Shadow's Flare won't be changing. You know, the parts about Trixie and her friends and Shadow Flare and all the characters and things!!
So, regardless, I'm still looking forward to the episode! Head canon crushing and all!
Once I've decided how to go about this, I'll make a follow-up post. Maybe.
Well, yours is an alternate reality where Twilight Trixie an Sunset coexist and are all badasses who work under Luna...I think we can accept that this is different orld at this point.
Meanwhile I am going to be dancing in sthe streets over how this will match pretty well wiht Equestria's mirage
Isn't obvious by now that the Trio-verse is detached from the main canon, and the representation of a different dream world shouldn't effect your tale in any way because it was established prior to this episode and Tantibus? And will Starlight Glimmer ever become relevant? Unless she doesn't exist.
3187212 Detached from canon doesn't mean canon isn't important to the Trioverse. That said, Starlight Glimmer isn't within the initial scope of the Trioverse's main story. And if Tantabus is a person rather than a thing, it won't be introduced into the main story either.
I have everything involving the prophecy planned out, and the main story introduced in Luna's Protege ends with Chaos's Spark. What happens after that is where Starlight, and possibly Tantabus, will reside.
Well, that and OC villains.
