Handyman Can't Draw I - Shady goings on · 7:56pm Jun 6th, 2015
Welcome to the first blog where I try to reawaken my incredibly poor artistic skills once again.
Because why not? I am not going to be doing another set of maps until Handy crosses the border of Eastern Equestria in my last batch of maps so I can justify doing maps for central and south-central Equestria and the Badlands, because fuck doing all those maps at once. That and Bad Mondays hit over 900 likes which, frankly, I can't really believe nearly a thousand people read the story let alone left a like. Oh also my dislike has finally hit 40 after a month of flip flopping and has stayed constant over at least a day, giving me a nice, neat, rounded number on at least on of my stats ending in a zero, which if you remember the last time I brought it up, is the only thing I care about in my stats because it gives me a nice complete feeling, no matter what the actual numbers are.

Little updates on the story front done, got enough chapters to ensure every monday from the 8th to the 29th has something uploaded and Usurper has kindly volunteered his time as an additional set of eyes after being grilled by JBL, so the editing process will still be back on track while Jude recovers and Terminal returns from whatever military camp he's been shipped off to. So that's nice. Although admittedly it was fun to see JBL's eyes roll back into his head when I explained to him the ontological nature of the BM universe that will never be brought up in the story because, frankly, there's no way it could be done so naturally. The perks of a backstage pass I guess.
Anyway, this picture was actually meant to include Crimson Shade alongside her new servants in Facade and Glimmer, the Changelings she pressed into service, maybe I'll do them tomorrow. It took me so long to do this and I still didn't get the time to do the details I wanted, (more focus on the hair, damage to the traveling cloak, more shading and lighting, etc, etc, etc) but seeing as Crimson is a reasonable popular character despite her lack of page time I decided to not wait and to share her now. I might get to drawing more BM characters of varying relevancy as time goes on.

I always get a chuckle by imagining myself as that one batpone Handy hates more than anything else when she pops up in the story. The rustling of his delicate jimmies is so much more satisfying.

3127844 Well it has been over a year since I drew anything seriously and my last attempts at drawing pony was legitimately terribad, so you know, I wasn't holding my breath on this one.
3127847 Being dark wizard pony and travelling for the better part of a month will do that to you. Originally her bags were actually supposed to be noticeably heavier and darker.

Nice drawing, man. If you want quick and easy lines and curves you pretty much need a drawing Tablet. Unless you want to get nice and acquainted with the Pen Tool... really acquainted. (Depends on what program you use though.)
Okay I was stunned by the animation. Two and a half years of animation production. Damn.
When we get to the locations relevant to the maps it'd be a good idea to chuck them up at the end of that chapter in authors notes so the readers who don't check your blogs can get a look at them. You've been listing a lot location names in your story as of late. Best not to confuse the casual readers too badly.
3128242 Flash based everything for me, never could get used to photoshop, I use Gimp for map stuff and I do everything by mouse. I have a tablet but could never get used to it and it slowly but surely collected dust in the corner of my room. Never could get the smooth lines everyone said I could anyway when using it and the fancy, advertised pressure detection simply did not work. At all. Could never be sure if it was just my tablet which I spent and age installing the drivers for or literally every program I used that was at fault. Basically it was a full lot of nothing for the cramp it gave me in my wrist. And fuck getting back together with the pen tool, that was the worst relationship I've ever had, woman constantly bitches at you over everything and is never co-operative and is ridiculously high maintenance.
And yeah I should probably hit up the maps when we get chapter 40 up.

It's not just Fimfic, it's basically any sort of fan works. I've seen honest to God good arts and ideas devalued by creators with the attitude of 'I don't care.' Taken to an excessive level like out of some over-dramatic anime. It's done out of some twisted impulse of pride where the creator isn't completely proud of why they put the effort into it, so they act overly disinterested in it. No one is naturally that indifferent about their own time. It's never fun to witness the first time and after awhile it just looks pathetic. I mean, it's practically their hobby isn't it?
