Happy New Years everyone!
Here's to a better new year, God bless you and yours and I hope all the best for you all in the coming year. I may or may not have a job in the coming year. Part of the thing I've been hinting at from Hollowe'en onwards was that I was sitting the IPLS entrance exam (Institute of Professional Legal Services) an exam I need to pass in order to join the Institute and eventually pass the bar exam, because despite not being a part of America,becoming a lawyer is a federal fucking issue here. Anyway, I sat this exam twice before and passed twice before and twice failed to find a solicitor or law firm to take me on as an apprentice (becoming a solicitor is a master-apprentice thing here, no training contract? No law school and no bar exam. Doesn't matter if I have a law degree from an accredited university).
For the past ten years thats kind of been my lot while flitting from one job to another, doomed to paralegal drudgery (instead of the high flying, high faluting drudgery of professional big-man legal services. Can't wait for the 60 hour weekly grind minimum) until, of all things, a chance invitation to a Judge's office and what may potentially be the most consequential five second conversation of my life very strongly implying I might be a shoe in for such a contract next year if I could pass the exam this December. Something of a last minute notice kind of thing, but whatever, its not every day you can exploit family-friend connections after a decade of purgatory. I am happy to say I am confident I passed the exam, but I wont know until... Well they didn't exactly tell me when I'd be getting the results, but whatever.
So I've been something of a wreck regarding it for like three months leading up to it, but it's over and done with now so its in God's hands. Anyway, here's to a more productive 2022, I know I apologize a lot for not updating and I get its tiring and I dont blame any of you for dipping out. But I really am going to try to actually get back to work and with no more excuses other than my own failings and fault to blame.

It's good to hear you seized the opportunity and things are looking up. Far too many people let these kinds of opportunities pass them by and then complain about things going badly, so it's good to hear you're not making that mistake.
Oh, and here's to a new year crazier than the old one!
