And for the few of you reading, I bet you are wondering...
What is to become of Maeve and Luna as they stepped through the door?
Maeve did mumble the words "Tír na hÓige" as the pair headed for the chalk lined doorway. It is shown that Maeve made the chalk lines in the real world while she was dreaming.
I suppose the better question is, what sort of ending do you want Maeve to have? The ending was left intentionally ambiguous.
It was a dark, unsettling tale. To be honest, it got about the reaction I thought it would. It seems to be mostly ignored, which is fine. A few upvotes, a few downvotes, and it just sort of slipped under the radar, which I sort of feel good about. It was cathartic to write.
Speaking as the author, I have no idea what comes next for the pair. I honestly haven't thought that far ahead.
Any number of things could happen. Maeve could become a curiosity and ward of the crown. She might be transformed into a pony and adopted by Luna. The portal could be rerouted by her expectations to Tír na hÓige itself, where Luna and Maeve would have to work together and fight their way out of the courts of the fey.
What matters is that Maeve wouldn't be with her father anymore, and Luna wouldn't be distracted from her duties. And thank goodness for both.

It was a dark subject but it was a good fic... i liked it, i liked the open ending and i liked the fact that in the end Luna bucked the shit out of him

Luna didnt turned into a human when entered the place, so i doubt she will be ponified.
As for what to do next with the story, i think this story should be closed. This bittersweet ending is the best way to end a story like this. If you countine it wont have the same impact because she will be relatively safe, only thing to worry about is how she process everything that happened.
Hmm. If you're going by the 'belief' angle, Luna and Maeve could well be transported to a reflection of Equestria where Maeve's quite possibly very much distorted beliefs about it are made real, and Luna has to draw herself and Maeve a portal back to Equestria itself at the point of greatest sympathetic resonance with the 'real' Equestria. But who knows.

Her life made new could be told. For all we know, she could've died right there thinking she was saved but luna never actually existed.
If i could, I'd give you a million dollars just to continue it as long as the rest is just as good.
