The end of the winter arc draws ever closer · 1:20am May 12th, 2015
And we will be doing a bit of a time skip ahead.
I should warn you, the end of the winter arc will bring about a new twist in the story.
Bucky will be removed from the story for a while. When Bucky goes off somewhere in the world, we always see the story through his perspective and the events of those around him. Only now, when he leaves, we will see the story from the perspective of those he leaves behind. How they cope, how they deal with his absence, the worry and fear they endure when he is in danger, each day passing not knowing.
I almost decided to not do this... at first, I thought it was kinda dumb, but the idea grew on me. It was back around, oh, I dunno, November or December when I had this idea and I started fleshing out the story in two ways. A focus on Bucky, or a focus on his family, without Bucky.
Anyway, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Both ideas have merit... and I honestly would like to see *both* sides (yes, I know that's whimper inducing, Kudzu). I'd say that you try the 'those left behind' POV for one short arc, just to see how it goes over. If the overall response is good, then you know you have a winner. If it isn't, then you haven't committed to an overall arc in a style that people won't enjoy reading. Again, my choice would be an alternating POV (one chapter Bucky, one chapter TLB) as It would show the greater picture.
My 2 bits, adjusted for inflation and idiocy of the political system (pick one, any one).

This arc might stretch to 100,000 words, depending on content and editing.
If I went with both... **faints**

Yeah, I know... but that's why I suggested the mini-arc first.
I'm not a writer. So do what you think is best and I'll probably like it.
Remember why you started this story in the first place ?
To see if you could write an epic, and develop your writing skills. In other words, experimentation.
Keep experimenting, old friend, keep at it...
I'm kindof curious now, how the "from home" viewpoint could take up so many words! Go for it!
You take good care of your story, Kudzu. I'm sure whatever you do will be well thought out and well worth the read.
sounds interesting looking forward to it.
geese are more than enough, deliver me from swans.
When the time skip happens, how much will we be filled in on what happens in that time? And how many years forward?

Not years... we begin the spring arc.
3063575 Oh, so it's /that/ kind of timeskip. Then by all means! Do that home focus arc! I'm all for it. ^.^ Can't believe you filled a year into six hundred plus chapters. And we're following bucky until he dies.... If he doesn't die in the next year this'll end up being the longest written narrative ever.... of all time. O.O *Waves a little derpy flag* Go Kudz, yaaaay~
Do it. I'd love to see the Home-Side of 'Bucky leaves home'.
In the long run, I'd say it comes down to the mix. You have such a vast and interesting world, I still want to see what the characters see on their journeys.
