It turns out AKG has been added to a few... less than desirable groups without me noticing. I went to check them out and... I think I found either the troll groups... or the groups made of idiots. I'm not sure, but there descriptions are fucking hilarious. You've gotta see this shit.
We'll leave alone the fact that I've been submitted to Rage Reviews. To my KNOWLEDGE all they do is blast fics, but they may do positive reviews and I don't know it. Even if they don't by publishing this fic, I opened myself up to critics. I'd actually love to see them do it.
We'll start with: The No Originality Brigade. These guys don't seem too bad. This is for unoriginal fics, they actively say that that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Good on you guys! I never claimed my stuff was original. Basically I was just having fun.
Then there is Absolutely Disgusting a group that actually talks about judging a fic on title alone.
And then we have the granddaddy of them all The Edgy Group of Edginess.

We'll leave alone that it is the most unprofessional looking group page next to MINE, rife with spelling errors and a description that is a full TWO SENTENCES LONG. One of them being a feeble attempt at humor, the other being solid proof that the creator is an angsty teenager who blows off steam by bitching about-you guessed it- angsty teenagers!
Specifically, my story was put in a folder called "How Could this Happen To Me?" Which is Bullshit, by the way. If you're going to accuse me of being overwrought, you don't hit me with Simple Plan, you go the full Likin Park! The folder SHOULD have been called "CRAWWWWWWLING IIIIIN MY SKIIIIIIIIN!!!!!"
The folder description is as follows.
Stories of characters being depressed and shit as if that' supposed to make us care or something.
Love the floating apostrophe. And why do I get the feeling that you're the kind of misanthropic fuck who wouldn't care if Jesus Christ came down from the sky and kicked you squarely in the balls.
You guys have read my fic, right? I think I had characters standing around being depressed for.... the end of chapter five. But I hold they had reason! Most of the time it's comedy, explosions, anger, more explosions, fear, did I mention explosions, and spoilers it is all going to lead to a happy ending.
And what's really sad? I know one of the Mods. He's a follower and a friend.
Stig? Listen. If you added my story to that group because you gave AKG a fair read and you thought it was absolute trash, that's fine. Not only is it your prerogative to think that, but there is no way in hell I'm going to take it personally. Because as much as it sucks,,, all of these groups need to exist. They do in fact provide a service to those who love bad stories.
But let's be honest, those who thought my fic was full of shit TOLD me. Check the comments. wYvern had some really legit complaints.
But that's not what happened. These guys didn't sit through my 38k+ word fanfic and decide they didn't like it. I'd be surprised if they even clicked on the prologue.
They put me in these groups because my story had "Alicorn" in the title. And that. Is plain. Bullshit.
It's a freakin injustice, and I SHOULD be pissed. But I'm not. There are complaints you can make about my writing. Very easily.
1) My grammar is atrocious
2) My paragraphing is something I do on the whim of whatever sounds cool
3) My "fight scenes" are two people giving long winded speeches to each other followed by one decisive punch.
4) My descriptions are often vague.
5) I rely extremely heavily on Deus Ex Machina.
All of the above are WONDERFUL reasons to call my writing garbage. Bu angsty?... Try again. I have to many flaws to COUNT but I know that ain't one of'em. And the fact that THAT'S the one you picked to bitch about makes me laugh.
This is me being flamed for, let's be honest, a REALLY SHITTY TITLE. I would have changed it if I had been here longer before first publishing it.
So I'm just going to say that I'm almost done with the next chapter, and it will be out either tonight or tomorrow! Peace!
Pfft. I don't add fics to groups. If I recall, the only reason I'm even a mod at all is cause one of the other mods is a buddy.
Heh. The whole "Speech than punch" thing is how I would play in my backyard.
Come up with a back story, argue with "the enemy", get bored and go back inside to watch The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Note to self: Find some time to read Light's AKG fanfic.
Rage reviews is actually a pretty swell group. A story of mine got reviewed, and I got a pretty good score, while they cracked funny jokes. Seriously, they are hilarious. AKG might get reviewed one day, and I am waiting for it! (Hopefully a really good reviewer does it).
Sadly, people are idiots.
