Howdy howdy! Huh, I think this is the first time I specifically tagged this story in a blog post. It sure has come a long way from what was essentially a brain fart in the middle of class one day!
And we're not even at the good parts yet! I have story plans all the way through season four and beyond; with twists and turns and all that good stuff! This won't be your Granny's MLP!
That being said though, the story is about to be marked "Complete" after two more chapters. PUT DOWN THE PITCH FORKS, PLEASE! Put them down; though marked complete we've only just begun! The Poisoned Barb will be complete, but its first sequel, The Poisoned Barb's Tale, shall live on!
Yes I'm aware of what that will entitle; the story will go back down to zero likes and views and etc., and that will make it harder for people to justify picking it up and giving it a try, but I still feel that the switch is necessary. The character tags, for one thing, need to be changed to better reflect the characters that will be covered in this second half. The word count is also going to become unreasonable if I jam THE ENTIRE SERIES into one story. This little bite-sized "Prequel" story should hopefully encourage more people to give it a try 
So that's my justification for the upcoming sequel. Nothing it really going to change in the transition; I'm still going to update it once a week, it's still going to focus on Barbara, it's still going to be a hybrid of first person and journal entrees (though said journal it about to become a diary pretty soon here), and it will still be set in the same section of the multiverse; the one where Twilight is Dusk, Solaris is a troll and a half (is that really any different?), and everypony else? Well... wait and see 
The sequel story WILL be updating with two chapters instead of just one, just like how this story began. This is going to require a one week long break in-between the two stories to accomplish, but I feel that it will be worth it. That said though, I'm left wondering how to proceed with my current plan for this story. Two chapters remain, one of which I know will be of decent length. The other? Well I haven't started writing it yet but I THINK that it's going to be pretty short in execution. This leaves me at a crossroads; I could aim to write them together and post them together, but if I can't accomplish this the story will be a week late. If I write them individually and I can't make that final chapter a decent enough length I run the risk of having a lackluster update as the 'finale'. I know how annoying it is to wait for something to update, expecting a full course meal, only to get a single dinner roll instead 
So then... what do you think I should do? Keep in mind that I'm also working on updates for two more (solely based on numbers here) popular fics at the moment. Should I take the risk or should I play it safe? Would anyone be upset if I produce another Interlude 1-sized chapter? Leave your vote below!

Humans can survive 3 weeks without food and by humans I mean people that use starvation regularly. So two weeks I think is enough time to work up an appetite.
Regardless of how you go about it, I will look forward to more.

Well I've always been a bit weary of using that site. I wouldn't want to use something, after asking the guy for permission, only to then find out another artist had made it! A quick glance also nets me nothing but 'cutesy' Barb pictures which, although true, isn't really what I'm going for here. How oddly appropriate.
I betcha if you contact Piercing Sight through a private message and ask him to edit the smile to a frown or something, with the promise of giving him cred, he might do it for you. The guy has a knack for drawing and editing pics. You could also say "Pickleless sent me, he said to get mad at him if you're upset."
I imagine he would like the slight advertising though.

In all honesty? No, I don't think so, simply because most reptiles don't either. Granted though that's just me speaking logically. I could totally form a head canon around teenaged dragonesses growing lumps on their chest while around that age for different reasons; enlarged heart on their left, enlarged flame sac on their right, all because girls grow faster then boys. These lumps then disappear as they grow into their super sized adult forms. There; best of both worlds!

*Nervously laughs* What can I say? I'm picky about these things.
One and four would be okay if their expressions were different. Three has some kind of story going behind it already so that's a no. And two... Okay I'll admit that two would probably be perfect if I hadn't already seen it used before as the cover for things like Beauty of a Dragon. Nothing WRONG with reusing nice art (with permission), I just think I'd be better off trying to have something original like a modified version of that last one I found.
Won't be this story's FIRST sequel though, so I'm sure I'll find something even better later down the line; if not outright commission one like I did for the cover of A Cog in the Machine. A pic of her snuggling a phoenix would pretty much describe the entire story in one neat image
