    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

My Little Pony Smackdown: Girls vs Bronies

(Link provided earlier by Arcainum)

I owned a MLP rainbow-maned alicorn back then... back when I would play with Centurions and G.I. Joes and pretend that the difference in size was because they were from different planets and that Playmobile 'people' were zombies when you removed the hair. (They were the evil minions of the bad guys). The alicorn would provide sage advice and unfathomable knowledge to my good guys... sort of the Lord of The Forest character from Dragonlance, I guess...

How about you? Do you despise the old MLP series and toys? Or did you also love your little ponies back then?

I LOVE my toys from WAAAAAY back when.

I mean, I grew up on the G1 series, so it's only fitting I had them, even IF I'm a guy.

I support the Older series, as well as the new. I hope others share my thought.

I don't despise them. Used to, but Saberspark opened my eyes with his "Ballad of the Brony" thing.
Still hate gen 3.5 though
Good lord, there are no words to describe the fiery loathing for those hellspawned abominations.

My parents were super traditional int he sense of boys things were for boys and girl's things were for girls. Therefore I never even, frankly, heard of MLP until G4. All the fuss I hear about the former incarnations of the franchise, I am glad for this.

Hey, the G1 Ponies were BOSS! They fought Satan.

The toys I remembered owning where of the standard stereotype of the time so no I never encountered MLP toys myself.

As for the cartoons, I only remember seeing a bit of one episode but turned the channel soon enough.

I basically was indifferent to them.

While I don't think it has a clear connection to the topic I did routinely watch "The Little Flying Bears" as a kid.

...im starting to check out G1 but G2 and 3 can die in a fire

I used to watch the G1 ponies. We even owned the movie with the Smooze on tape and watched it all the time!

I think my sister had a few pony toys. I think I even borrowed them from time to time to include them in my epic Transformers battles. I don't own any of them anymore, but man, those were the days.

And now I feel old. Real old.:pinkiesad2:

I never really watched them when I was younger. My opinion back then could be summarized as: "Girly. *shrug* Eh." Now it's more like: "Decent '80s cartoon." My Little Pony Tales has better animation than gen1 but the plot is uninteresting and bland. 3.5 is dumb, but entertaining in it's stupidity. Newborn cuties *shudder* the horrid abominations make me want to stab my eyes out...

Edit: Never had the toys, or knew anyone who did, though.

The toys didn't reach me "back then", my sister was more into the whole Barbie-thing. But I remember watching "My little Pony - der Film" and "Abenteuer am Mitternachtsfluß" ("My Little Pony - The Movie" and "Rescue at Midnight Castle"), mostly because Tirek was pretty badass and the song of the Smooze was catchy.
So no hard feelings for G1 from me.
Unless you're going to tell on me at school. Then I'm gonna hide your pants after sports and call you a stinky poo. :ajsmug:
I'm into the G4-blindbags but the brushables, old or new, don't do it for me.

Also top comment is hilariously awesome:

NOOOO!!!1! YOU KILLED PINKIE PIE YOU MOTHERFU, o wait, it's G3...carry on.

I was always an animation fan, even when I was a kid, so I actually liked the original movie. I thought Tirek was an awesome villain, and Scorpan had a lot more development than I would have expected from the second-in-command of a bad guy (most of whom were bumbling doofuses and comic relief in those days). My main complaint about the show back then was that they had far too many "oh, look how cute we are!" moments.

Other than that... yeah, I was a D&D and fantasy nerd. Unicorns? Pegasi? Land of enchantment and magic? Oh, yeah, that was all good!

I was never at the point where I wanted to buy the toys, but I never held them in the contempt that a lot of my peers did, or seemed to.

I've only ever known G4.

This is irrelevant to what I care about :rainbowwild:

206664, you have a point, if you look over 1 or 2 details, it can be made a D&D setting with ease. And you can justify it the same way the Chess Game of the Gods did it, the show is only a small area, in an undoubtedly massive world. And I'm 13.

I was deprived. Enough said.

Y'all might find this interesting.

Though I have no real history with ponies outside of now.but aside from G3/.5 I don't have hard feelings. Hey, if they were from the 80's they must be pretty good.

Never had control of the remote nor did my parents ever buy me toys, soooo...

Heh, I was in college when G1 started airing, and Megan and her friends were one of the half dozen animated shows I regularly recorded. I pretty much followed the show all along, though things got waaaay too cutesy there for a while. Then, the FiM series brought things back again, and I picked up my old fascination right were I left off. (To quote Rainbow Dash, "I'm an egghead." :rainbowlaugh:)

I'm glad I put my tea down because elsewise I would've spit it all over my computer screen. :P Eeyup, that they did.

DUDE PLAYMOBILE. I remember that, taking their hair off so that they would be zombies. OR! If you were playing with littler dudes than they were like evil giants. Both ways, pretty awesome. Either way, no love for playmobile dudes.

Never had any MLP toys as a kid. But I was the only boy in an all girl daycare and was stuck watching JEM, Carebears, and (mostly) MLP on VHS. I'd say I was an old-school brony, but this guy has me beat:
mylittleponycollecting.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/danny_beforeitwascool.png

I saw a few MLP episodes back in the day, they were OK but couldn't match up to chaaracters I watched in other shows at the time, like Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man and She-Ra, Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor Leo) and All Star Wrestling.
When I was a kid a show needed to have either good characters of fantastic adventures, MLP was lacking in both.

As for the toys, a few of the girls I was friends with, and later my couisns, had them and I always found them to be the very lamest toys imaginable.
