Shades of Night - Afterthoughts · 10:05pm Nov 12th, 2014
For those that have been following me long enough, you’ll know that it’s kind-of a tradition for me to post an Afterthoughts blog after the final chapter is posted.
It really doesn’t feel like six months since I’ve started Shades of Night. It’s also hard to believe that I’ve been working on this story (May-November) longer than I’ve been working on MOA (December-May). I guess it’s because the first few months of MOA were spent working on that story alone.
I try to do at least one thing different with every story I write. For this one, I wanted to combine the romance in MOA with some of the seriousness of Facing Changes, and I’ll admit that it was a struggle to find a balance, but I had some good people backing me up with this.
First, there’s my editor, danail24, who helped with the atmosphere of the romantic scenes. Then there’s my creative consultant, dewybmt, who helped me with the more dramatic scenes. It helped to have someone to compare and test ideas with.
I really enjoyed writing this story, and it was fun to do a more dramatic romance. Now that I have this under my belt, I’m gonna try a story with more abrasive and sarcastic humor, and I hope you guys will stick around when Hate Thy Neighbor is posted. For those who still aren’t in the know, you can read the synopsis HERE.
Now, will I write a sequel for this story? I highly doubt it. I think the story is fine the way it is, but if I ever were to do a follow-up, it'd probably be a one-shot where Nightshade and Noah tell Klaus and Maud about Nightshade's true identity. That's probably not gonna happen, though, since I have a lot of original stories planned, and plus I like to just assume that it worked out fine. They're all mature adults.
I’m sure you guys have already left your thoughts on the last chapter, but what about the story as a whole. Was there a part that you really liked in particular? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time, keep it sketchy, folks!
... But the final chapter Isn't posted?
Edit: Ah, nevermind. Took a while for the page to update.

Yeah, I have to post the Afterthoughts blog first so I can put a link to it in the final chapter.
Honestly it's pretty good, sure there were a few times I cringe, but that was when I saw NM go cra-cra. On the whole, it's not a bad story.
2590626
That was the idea
2590635 However I just wish to know, are you going to continued this story or is it over for good?
2590640 Forgot to mention that. I should edit that in.
[ONE MOMENT, PLEASE]
2590640
Done.
2590661 Well that answer my question.
i enjoyed the story as a whole
also i've read every one of your stories now....... time well spent
stay classy
I'm honestly conflicted. I've really enjoyed this story from start to finish (Klaus was my favorite, no denying that) but now that it's over I'm really, really looking forward to your Threesome of Hate story. Especially since it involves Trixie.

So where's the conflict at? You get two awesome stories! YAY!
2591144 Ah, but I didn't want Shades to end, especially with how you left Klaus and Maud. If you ever did a spin-off I'd love to see their shenanigans
2591255
Well, for Klaus and Maud, I wanted to make it so that the readers will be able to piece together what happens between them without explicitly stating it.
what i hate about these stories is that i want more :) though i am satisfied with how yo ended it. you left it to alot of possibilities for us to imagine. Looking forward to your next work
will you ever do a side-story to show Klaus's/Maud's relationship?
2597483
Probably not. I don't really have enough ideas or investment to do a full story on them, and I have a lot of original ideas that are crying for my attention right now.
2597520 i was actually just thinking one shot but i still under stand you're reasoning
