So, one of the awesome folks is Wise Cracker

Who happens to be of the European persuasion and has been blogging about the Zwarte Piet debate happening in certain Dutch areas.

The TL;DR of it is people arguing if a character is racist or not. You can read the full blog here and I do think it's a good read, even if you don't know too much about what's happening.

He also mentioned a neat story idea that I want to signal boost and perhaps see bear fruit.

Namely, "Santa Hooves' Day in Court," Santa gets accused of racism for having Reindeer pull his sleigh.

You could also say it's tangentially related to O's most recent story "Strong Proud Earth Pony Mare" It's a pretty rough read in spots like many of her works. Because she tackles some hard, uncomfortable topics and doesn't shy away from them. You can find her story list over here and her other stuff is definitely worth checking out too.

Geez, racism has been cropping up a lot on here lately.

Ah yes, the charge of racism! That is a weapon system, like rapiers or cased dueling pistols, used by privileged white people to settle dominance issues.

(It is rumored to have once had other uses, but these have become lost in the mists of time)

The racism charge is outdated, though. The legal blocks are too hard to push through. Courts decided on the matter, btw, and called BS.

Oh my god. That could be hilarious. If done well (i.e.: in a way that makes it funny instead of dwelling with politics) you might have the perfect Christmas comedy here. Someone competent needs to write this.
