Rust's Glorious Fleet of the Seven Skies
Squalls: fast, light, and armed to the teeth. Solid gasbag design, with a sharkfin keel. Aggression and beauty in the form of an airship.
Snow Jam: Commanded by Captain Noble Cause. The Jam runs patrol in the frigid crystal mountains. Prow of a charging Windigo. Painted white and grey to blend in with the mountains. Flies the flag of the Crystal Empire, where she makes berth.
Mercury City: Commanded by Captain Skeeter, called The Lurker for his renowned use of stealth and subterfuge. Painted dark gray with green highlights. Mercury City is named after one of the great metropoli of the lost Kingdom of Unicornia. One of the oldest ships in the fleet, has seen much action. Currently in the Canterlot shipyards for refurbishment.
Happiness: Commanded by Captain "Robot" Red. Stationed in Las Pegasus, where its crew and captain have been repeatedly cited for drunken and disorderly conduct while in port. Painted red with gray highlights. Happiness is known for undergoing long deployments into the High Sky over the San Palomino desert. Rumor has it she performs long range reconnaisance on the nearby Badlands, but the Princesses aren't talking.
Ruthless Ridge: Commanded by Captain Powdered Toast. The newest ship in the fleet, Ruthless has been sailing out of Vanhoover, skirmishing regularly with rogue gryphon tribes to the north and east. The captain is known for his fondess of the ship's storm cannon, which can topple ironwood trees with powerful gusts of white, sugary snow.
The Intimidator: Commanded by the twin Captains, Wolf and Heart. Wields the largest amount of firepower of any squall, including Princess Twilight's new prototype ice gun. Stationed in Canterlot, this destroyer is commonly deployed with diplomatic convoys to foreign countries. When asked about the large amount of destructive force accompanying our usually peaceful missions, Princess Celestia stated; "I'm not compensating for anything."
Gravitude: Commanded by Captain Dusty. Interestingly, Capt. Dusty once served the Princesses in Canterlot as a Royal Janitor, and he continues to clean up their messes even now as a Naval Officer. Gravitude is fast and dark, painted black, purple and blue. She is rated for the highest elevation out of the entire fleet, and is often employed by Princess Luna or Twilight Sparkle to conduct experiments in the stratosphere.
The Throne: Currently under construction in the Fillydelphia shipyards. Set to be commanded by newly-promoted Captain Stupid. Contrary to his name, Stupid is academically recognized for his cartographic and drawing skills, and is being groomed for admiralty in the far future. The Throne is set to become an anchor point to a smaller sub-fleet that will embark on trans-oceanic expeditions to the Unknown Lands.
Gales: Heavier, slower, and larger than squalls, but by no means less effective. Gales are often employed in deterrence or rescue/covert operations.
R & B: Commanded by Captain "Bob" Rainbow. Every fleet has a loose cannon. Bob is known for taking that loose cannon, strapping it to the back of his ship, and using it as rocket. His battle cry is, "Doesn't Afraid of Anything!" The R & B served in the Zavannah for a number of years as a supplement to the Zebra Nation's sparse Air Navy, where the ship has been declared a national treasure. Painted a deep blue, and unusually tattooed with bright yellow shaman tattoos. Her prow is that of a sea sponge. I'm not joking.
Style Mile: Commanded by Captain Cloudhammer. A relic from the Nightmare Wars nearly one thousand years ago, the Mile is as storied as she is venerable. Her commanding officer is also the oldest in the entire Navy, but has shown no signs of slowing down. By no means senile, "The Grandmother of Naval Asskicking" still serves as a patrol craft over the southern border, though nowadays she isn't above being the centerpiece of a parade or two.
Kick Doubt: Commanded by Captain Pen Brush. Stationed in Ponyville, the Kick Doubt runs patrol and monster hunting duty over the Everfree Forest. She moors outside the town limits, tethering to a windmill owned by a local farmer. Often the first to respond to many of Ponyville's many crises, the pink and purple skyship has become a welcome sight to many of the town's residents.
Hurricanes: The largest things ponykind has made to hang in the air that aren't completely made of clouds. Hurricanes are floating cities, but far, far faster and more well-defended than true pegasi dwellings.
The Junction: Commanded by Admiral Molotov Cocktail. Stationed in Canterlot. Recently away on a two year expedition to the Austailian Isles, set to deploy again in the coming months after a well-deserved rest. Refitted with a prototype mana reactor (patent pending), her engines have often been mistaken for the sound of thunder. The Princesses are curious to see how high a ship that never needs refueling can raise the bar to.
Schizophrenia: Commanded by Admiral Traveler. A floating hospital in the sky, Ol' Skitzy has been the centerpoint for relief efforts in Equestria's many recent disasters. Painted white, with bright red crosses on her hull. Set to become the flagship of the aforementioned Expeditionary Fleet that will venture across the ocean to the Unknown Lands.
Perpendiculous: Commanded by Grand Admiral Kinkamena Diane Pie. This is the ship where Princess Luna's fabled Knights of the Rising Moon make their home. Here, almost all of Equestria's special and black operations are staged. Nopony knows where she makes her berth, though some rumors claim she occasionally takes a well-earned rest on the moon. Crewed almost exclusively by Nocturni (batponies), this smoke-stained monster is the nightmare in the heart of all evil.
This was super cool to read. I know there was that ginormous airship battle in the Ballad of Echo; did any of these ships see action in that?

Sea Dart: an old cargo vessel with as many stories as tones of cargo hauled. She is Home to the crew. Thou old and cranky, she is still kicking and will never quit; thanks to the crew taking care of her. First Skippered by Captain Long Knoll. She is the Flagship of Commodore Tom Knob of the Century Flotilla. (Knob is an 'old goat' and has been Commodore since before the Sea Dart) She is currently Skippered by Captain Jimmy Zulu. He has been with the boat for 22 years and was the apprentice to Knoll, he know everything about the boat in and out. He has been everywhere in the boat, fuel tanks, bilge under a giant heavy engine, and even the sneaky little area behind the fuel tank and exhaust tube. Other officers include Captain Tug Geiger, tug boat expert used when the Sea Dart is used ass a tug, Commander Nike Night, treasurer, Lieutenant Commander Art Write, former member of the gone sister ship, Thunderbird, he also knows much of the boat, and Lieutenant Rust Ham, an engineer and has served as enlisted on the boat years before.
She mainly runs miscellaneous cargo from Manehattan to Cube Island and Vinyard, and everywhere in between.
LRS New Derby: the largest, fastest and most powerful and advanced battleship in the world so far. Commanded by Admiral Iroh Dragon, Dragon of the East, she is the pride of the NLR Navy. Her first duty is to patrol the Northern seas for enemy supply ships and submarines (where she will be tested in battle-spoiler. She will also be seen during the NLR Army-Navy game-Spoiler) (not much history yet as it is brand new)
