Okay, so the MLP 2014 annual comic is due for release two weeks from today (I thought it was gonna be October like last year, but I ain't complainin') and it's going to feature the Power Ponies. No, no the Mane 6, but the REAL Power Ponies. To signify this, the six superheroines are in their actual color schemes, and Humdrum is actually a pony!
With the actual colors of the Power Ponies revealed, this means that I'm gonna have to go back into Found You and edit all the scenes with Mistress Marevelous. I'll wait til the release date in case they reveal her civilian name. If they don't, I'll have to change the name I gave her since her mane clearly isn't golden. It's new color is kinda silver-ish with a blue tint, so I could change her last name to "Silvermane", or maybe just "Silver" or maybe even "Grey".
She also looks pretty mean and aggressive, a stark contrast from the characterization I gave her in Found You, but I'll keep my portrayal of her the same since her chemistry with Luxi works as it is.
Regardless, I look forward to reading this issue, even if I do have to edit some parts of my story because of it. I'm sure it'll be an awesome issue!

Okay, what?! That's stupid. They can't just create characters and then halfway through the entire fandom's obsession with them say "Oopsie! Let's change their designs!" Oh and Humdrum's a pony now. Great.

2443452 They never designed them in the first place. The cover of the comic and the pages Spike showed us clearly only featured Mane-iac. We simply assumed they had the same scheme as the 6. I'm actually happy with the designs.

You know, you don't have to change anything. Since your story was written before any established canon, or pseudo canon since this is the comics, was made just change it to an AU.
I think you could just leave 'Found You' as is. It's alredy tagged as AU, and I'm pretty sure that there aren't gonna be any humans in the annual comic. (Besides, I'd have to edit the ending of 'Now That I've Found You' as well, and I'm far too lazy for that.

Seriously, though. If you want to update Jackie's looks and name to match the new design, that's fine. But I wouldn't change anything else. Her personality, as presented in your story, works very well as a foil for Luxi. If you make her all angry and scowly-faced, it may end up being a disservice to both their characters. It would be a shame to hurt that wonderful story you wrote, just to match canon.
At least that's my two cents on it.
I'm definitely gonna have a look at that annual, when it comes out. (Did you notice that villain on the far right on the cover? Almost looks like a R63 Sombra to me. Wonder if the comic staff decided to have some fun with that concept.

I know! If this Sombra-esque villainess turns out to go good, I might write a oneshot with her.
As for Jackie, it is a good idea to just change her looks and nothing else, (maybe her name, too, if they even reveal it in the annual).
On the topic of possibly renaming Mistress Marevelous, you can't name her Greymane 'cause that's a House name in Skyrim, so them Skyrim junkies would be all over that, haha.

Please just change her looks and nothing else, if you change her personality it'll ruin the story. You can probably write a different version of this story if you really want to, but I feel like that would be radically different unless there's a true fundamental difference between the regular fanfic and the new version. Besides the other real Mane-iac was crazy and a normal supervillian, yours on the other hand was just crazy and possessively looking for Aaron. So there should be no reason for you to change a thing other than their looks.

Don't worry, I highly doubt that I'd change Marevelous's personality. It was just a random thought that'll likely never see fruition. I'm only gonna update her appearance and her name once the comic comes out.

I really hoped that when they were naming off the Power Ponies, that they would just go,
God god, Mane-iac's face in that cover is simultaneously horrifying and one of the best villain expressions ever! Like if you took the Joker's laugh and gave him bright, piercing, red eyes.
For some reason, the villain on the right reminds me of Keldeo, think it's the color scheme.
Just realized, Masked Matterhorn doesnt have wings. There goes my favorite fan theory of her being a pegasus with an artificial horn. Shame really.
