So due to the change in the EqDaily fanfic thing, I decided to send in Where the Mountain Meets the Sun. I just got the answer back, and needless to say, as I expected it didn't get in.
Here is the description I got from the prereader:
This actually isn't that far off, but I don't think you need detailed feedback, since they're pretty consistent problems. Look for hyphenation issues, some telly language, hyphen/dash confusion, misplaced apostrophes, one or two mistakes with dialogue punctuation, a bit of word repetition, one instance of than/then confusion in the synopsis, the odd typo here and there (feeble.i, unscaved, "lower passed the horizon"), capitalization of honorifics and stutters, some verb tense mess-ups, one particular jolting perspective shift, obtrusive sound effects, and a lot of flubbed thee/thou and archaic verb forms in the opening scene. And it's "Apple Bloom." You got it right in chapter 3. I also don't know why you're not using an AU tag. Really, the archaic language thing creates a bad first impression, since there were a lot of mistakes there, and it's the first thing I see. Some of the description could use help, too, particularly about the throne room. "The glass windows still remained, but they were corrupted by evil and the images themselves were distorted" without any hint as to what that actually looks like is underwhelming. That lame "Scootaloo is a chicken" joke is a horrible idea. It's no longer funny and all it does is hopelessly date your story.
So not so bad. Most of it can be easily fixed. So that will probably be my top priority is to fix this story and it's bad things and tweak it a bit.
~WA
Welp, at least it can be fixed. Not like mines, too disastrous to be read by living creatures.
I haven´t visited Equestria Daily in ages, I don´t like this site very much and I hear often enought that EqD is the Nemesis for most writers of fanfiction.
See, you can write, while I attempt to.

Haha That's not true. Your stories are good. I should know, I helped you with one! (Which I am still going to do, but my computer was stolen by the evil Momasaurus if you know what I mean)
1954306
YES.
They are ridiculous with their grammar premise and everything. But they changed up their fic leverage so that means I actually have a shot!
1954308
Eh. I attempt to write. I'm not too good by myself. I just have very good editors.
1954314
I´m not sure, but I also heard that some of them also include personal preference in their judgement. Not everyone is doing that of course, but I gues if you have bad luck.
I'm sorry. I have failed as editor.
*commits ritual sacrifice*
1954314
You have NOT seen them before I take them a pre-read and pre-edit by myself. Believe me Madame, you'd like to rip off your quantum-locked stone eyes from your pwetty face after one read.
1954316
That sucks. People shouldn't do that.
1954318
Don't worry. It's just a few minor things. I'll just look for a guy who can help with archaic English (might just ask a friend, she's good with that stuff) and hyphenation, I can fix everything else. It's just minor things that can be fixed easily.
1954323
Wow. That's harsh.
But I'd like to keep my eyes...
1954324
I know, but what can we do? Do you think you can ask for another prereader if you think that the one who judged it first included personal preference?
1954326
Then you know what to do - Do NOT check my unfinished, safety-unapproved projects.
(Why do you think I don't let you deep in the laboratories? From where do you think the giant metal-crab came from?)
1954327
No, I think it's just automated. Maybe I can contact the EqD head of fanfics, that could help.
But I think this guy actually did it fair and square, I hope.
1954330
So that's where the crab came from...
You, sir, have a weird imagination.
1954331
We will never know, but I guess these things are easy to fix (I guess so) and after that there shouldn´t be problems anymore.
1954331 Yeah, and despite the intentions it comes across as arrogance.
1954336
Yeah. That's good.
I'll look it over deeply and see what I can fix beforehand, and then I'll ask an editor to look it over for more grammar mistakes.
1954335
I would say "Either you do", but then I realized we ALL have one.
1954340
Sounds like a good plan
Oh, one more thing Weepy, (Can I call you that?) I work most of today, so editing may be delayed. I'll try to fit it in when I have time off. (About four hours from now.)
1954348
No problem! And yes, you can call me that.
I'm disappointed EQD, they gave you a wall of text in response
1954948 Same.
1955111 They should at least abide by their own rules
1955115
Yeah. And the Scootaloo chicken joke is good!
1955118 That was unnecessary, who cares if it's an old joke?
Honestly pretty much all of the MLP slogans are from season 1
