I miss the days--to all my fans and supporters, you were great. I leave a ghost, honest but neglected promises, and just the tip of the worlds I wished to share...

Something Positive, Yes? A...Fairytale of sorts. The Tale of Jackal and Phoenix

So, one thing I have been doing is a lot of homebrewing and world building for my Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting, Alandria. Have a good game, a little over a year old now, going, and it really sparks my creativity. I long to reach a point where I can write stories and the like in my world, like certain others have done in the past. (Haaah, dreams.)

My Name is Jared DeZarn. I'm a Worthless Failure.

So heads up. I have had a bit more to drink than I meant to. I'm still, more or less, aware of myself. I won't be blacking out or anything. If anything, I'm kind of in a super aware state?

(Something of substance to come some other day, but I am still alive, just...a fucking idiot, as I always have been. Sorry.)

My God, He's Releasing Something New

Jaysus, I've been quiet here. In all ways, not just the writing side of life. Which sucks. I suck, yes.

Call to Help Finish the Games

So, the Games, as originally intended, are pretty much done. But that's not my fault--so I'll see them done, even if the overall exercise has been largely lost.

So As Things Get Back on Track... · 9:41pm Mar 14th, 2014

So as things get back on track, I like to go ahead and spill details of ideas I've had floating in my head.

This could be a big one.

Now, there's a lot to do right at the moment, and my focus is on that, but I'm curious as to what the response to the general idea would be. For once, I'm putting my foot down and saying I definitely wouldn't be doing it anytime soon. Several months from now. At the least not until the First OC Tournament is complete. If I can start getting everyone in gear (including myself!), that should, hopefully, be done within the next two or three months. End of sem for school is always a patchy time, though, so it'll likely be touch and go for a bit.

Anyways, my idea and the reason this was tagged as it was.

So, my more or less only claim to (very small amounts of) fame is The Album, a project I am still immensely pleased about to this day. It went over super smashingly (and I'll have to see if I can't get some of the blanks filled in on that too. The nice thing about it is it's a project that never really ends, so long as I keep putting effort into it. Expect that blog sometime or another, yes). Like, above and beyond anything I could ever dream of (Thank you once again, Dawn Fade).

So ever since I semi closed the book on that one, I've wanted to do something of an Album 2. I've pondered the idea off and on this past...year or so, however long it's been, but never really settled on anything. A few ideas, but always I put it back aside.

So, I've got two angles I could pursue here, and am just curious as to what people might like to see.

One is simply The Album 2. The same exercise, but with new authors. Possibly a lot of the same authors, just with different characters. This is somewhat boring of an option, but the output would be just as spectacular as the previous one, obviously.

The other one is The Album: Redux, which itself has two primary methods. One, each author takes the same character and does it again. This is to challenge you to think about them again, and of course to see how you've grown as a writer. The other, to take the same authors but let them pick a different character. The biggest issue here is, of course, how many of these authors are still around and would still be interested? (And it naturally has a lot of potential with overlap on just doing a straight sequel, if I don't cut out previous authors.)

So realistically I think the first option is probably the only real option. Just opening up the list again, from scratch, and letting first come, first serve. Still, I might do both a sequel and the Redux, the latter for those still around interested in challenging themselves. That might be a good compromise.

So, to fans and participants of The Album... If I did this, what would you like to see?

Ooh, do the first one; I wanna apply! :pinkiehappy:

That's most likely what I would do. I'd like to give as many newcomers the chance to join as possible, after all.

I'll have to finish season 4 to familiarize myself with the characters and start making the list... It'll be a real doozy this time. Probably over a hundred characters now.

I would participate in either of those.

I also still have a write up for The Cutie Mark Chronicles: Extended (an Album like project detailing how all the side characters/background ponies other than the mane six and CMC got their cutie marks, what they mean to them, etc) but I know that my attention span will never let me be comfortable running that, so it's kind of up for grabs if anyone wanted to run it.

Well, I'd be happy to give either a go again. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Cherry Berry since The Album, and I'd love to have another go at a similar project.

Heh, if you'd promise to at least participate, I might have an interest in running that.

Swell!

Of course I'd love to participate! Let me know, and I'll send you a link to the guidelines I had written up (which you're welcome to use or change as much as you want.)

I'll definitely do it, but as with anything, when i get some of my current plate cleared. Cutie marks was actually one of the ideas I toyed with for a second Album, but the details were a bit different.

So yeah, I'll take that project...just eventually, heh.
