You know that thing when you've been working on something and you just finished it? And then you read it and realize that it's thematically inappropriate, or oddly paced, or just plain bad? And then you realize you have to re-do about a week's worth of work? And then you are interrupted by the appearance of a young child that can only speak Russian, but they have the most unusual blue eyes, and a

    A bold new direction!

    I have good news, everyone!

Due to recent events, I've come to realize that sustaining my current pace of work is simply not going to happen. In between my busy schedule of work, video games, crying in my shower, and training to beat the record for most packets of instant oatmeal cooked in a day, I'm simply swamped.

ART · 6:43am Jan 2nd, 2014

Right, all. Here's the thing. My first piece of cover art was made by the wonderful Hinoraito (pretty sure that's how you spell it, link on the picture), and the second was graciously done by a friend of mine for free. Can't argue with free, hey?

But now I have a problem. I want another piece commissioned for Stormsinger so I don't have to use stock pictures for it. That's how I attracted attention to my first story, that's how I maintained interest in my second, and now I need art for this one.

So, for those of you into art, especially deviantart, you'd be doing me a huge solid by pointing me in the direction of someone who does good work, and most importantly, is open for commissions.

I want to make my stories beautiful on the outside to match their beautiful insides. Can any of you help a guy out on this?

I don't personally know of any artists, but I know that there's a lot of writers on the site that uses commissions for cover art.

I'm not sure but I think these authors got commissions for the art at some point:

Anonymous Pegasus

Rainbow Bob

Good luck getting them to respond. :twilightsheepish:

How do you even art.

You should totally get LifeLoser to do the cover art.

I know [url=egophiliac.tumblr.com]Egophiliac takes commissions, just submit an ask and she'll tell you how much. I think her base price is $10 per character, extra for color, and I'm not sure how much you want to pay, but she's really good. She drew [url=woonastuck.tumblr.com]Moonstuck and she draws [url=sliceofponylife.tumblr.com]Slice of Life if you want to get a look at the different art styles she does.

Oh, and [url=inconvenienttrixie.tumblr.com]Inconvenient Trixie, too.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it couldn't hurt to suggest.

Is it just me, or did those links not work right?

The hazards of posting from a phone, I suppose.

Would love to help, truly I would, but i don't have the artistic ability to properly draw much of anything, much less the proper way to make a representation of the dark miasma of despair that

to match their beautiful insides

implies...
