    Hello

    Hey guys!

I had this strange, nostalgic urge to run back over here and look around. Damn this site has changed a fair bit in the last... 43 weeks since I last popped in.

    So, what's up?

How to Make YOUR Blurb/Description Better

So, I've been spending a fair bit of time here. It's a site for writers, similar to Fimfiction, but a tad more... general.

How You Go About It - The Editing Process

I've been writing for a little over two years now, both as a terribly time-consuming hobby, and for work. When I started, I thought that rereading, editing and drafting were sins. They were wastes of my precious time. Now, after many a mistake, my views have changed.

Of Parasites got a few views after its posting, not too shabby.
A big thank-you to everypony that read and commented!

Noe the real reason for this post. I need ideas. Specifically for a bitter sweet style Ship-fic. Or, a Sci-Fi comedy...

Go!

(Yes, chapter eight of SGW's is coming along just fine!)

Sci-fi comedy: After the events of the royal wedding twilight as usual goes on a studying binge to find information on the changelings. After days of hardcore research through texts ancient and modern; she learns two startling facts. The first being that changelings are not from Equestria, but from another planet altogether. And two she believes she has located the spacecraft that brought them here from times long ago, and after a daring exploration involving the mane six discover it. Some years in the future: after reverse engineering the ship Equestrian explorers spread through out the galaxy.
I know it's plenty scifi but the comedy...well you can add comedy to any situation given the right motivation.

Also; new profile pic! I drawed it my self. =P It's part of the cover art that I scribbled when I got hit with a ton of writers block...and I'm only half way through the first chapter...

Bitter-sweet style ship fic? Can do!

After a horrible accident, Applebloom is left crippled and unable to work the farm, the doctors tell her she only has a few years left to live. Depressed and disillusioned with the world, she loses hope and withdraws into her room to live out the rest of her days in solitude. She is saved when Scootaloo crashes through her window and convinces the depressed mare to come with her to "a place we've never, ever been." The two then travel deep into the Everfree Forest, deeper than anypony had ever been before, to a beautiful valley filled with blue flowers around a shining lake.

The two visit this place regularly, eventually building a house upon the shore. After a year, they move in and Applebloom takes up whittling, carving small figurines from fallen branches and sculpting statuettes from the pristine rocks lying at the bottom of the lake. Finally happy once more, the two share a few brief, deliriously happy years together, all but isolated from the world. Except for regular visits from their friends, of course.

Finally, the time has come and the medication for her injury stops working; Applebloom accepts her imminent demise, reasoning that her life had been well-lived, despite what happened. As she lays in bed, too crippled by pain to move, she has Scootaloo (her loving wife and caretaker) write one last letter to Princess Celestia, telling the ruler of Equestria all about the lessons she learned growing up, the life she'd lost, and the love she'd found in her foalhood friend.

As the letter is nearing completion, Applebloom whispers the last line and closes her eyes for the final time. Scootaloo, now weeping openly, finishes the letter and kisses her love's forehead one last time before sealing the cottage on the lake-side, ensuring that her friends dreams will forever be undisturbed.

How's that for bitter-sweet? Though I have no idea what your thoughts on same-sex shipping are (personally I'm not a shipper, I just wrote this on the spot) feel free to use the plot for whatever couple you think is best. I won't be doing anything with it so it's yours to do with as you please if you so choose. Have fun and looking forward to Ch. 8!

The Ugly Pony

He was so ugly everyone died.

The End

88781
No more Edgar Allen Bro? Aww...

Oh, and I need a cool name for a civilian space station... (If all goes well you'll find out why)

88795 Luna II? (A.K.A) 2

Bittersweet? Most peeps tend to go with Spike watching his friends and/or lovers fade away. Also works for Luna/Celestia.
Losing love is always a popular subject.
Granny Smith passing on from the point of view of 'Bloom might work. The crusaders trying to console her, maybe even Mac shedding a tear or two? Could make for some nice sisterly talk from AJ as well.
If you're looking for inspiration, The End of Ponies by 'Skirts is a fantastic Dark-Bittersweet story. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone and everyone.

Not got any ideas for a SciFi thing though. A popular choice is to do a crossover fic with something spacey (see Halo, Dead Space, shit like that)

Hmm, I COULD work out a psudo-Firefly crossover... Heck... that might be fun!

Law

88795 S.O.L.A.T; the Satellite Of Love A Tolerance...
Olympus, no sounds too military
How bout Tantalus
If you need something more ponyish, how about the Marecury One station
Or something simple, Nimbus

88805
Sweet, I'd read that. We didn't even get Firefly here in the UK, but it sure as hell looked awesome.

As for Space Stations, cloud names always work. Anything Italian-sounding generally does (e.g Stratus)
You can't go wrong with anything that's based in ancient languages. Greek and Latin especially. Consider Hebrew if you want something Ominous.
Things like Tartarus or Infernum would work well for either Combat Vessels or Space Hulks.

Diamond Tiara gets sent back in time, where she and young Rarity fall in love. But then Tiara is suddenly sent forward in time again, the effects of the time portal making Rarity forget her completely - and back in the present, Tiara suddenly realizes why she's always so antagonistic towards the Cutie Mark Crusaders: She's denying the real attraction in her heart: Sweetie Belle, whom young Rarity reminded her of.

Sci-Fi, bittersweet, comedy, and shipping, all rolled into one!

Although beware, I might do this one myself...
