I've been writing and selling stories for longer than a lot of folks reading this have been alive. Check Baal Bunny for more!

Something Sooner and Something Later · 5:47am Oct 11th, 2013

Two bits of news:

First, the sooner: pre-reader amacita let me know that my mini-epic poem "The Laughter and the Night" has passed muster and will be featured on Equestria Daily tomorrow or the next day. The e-mail contained notes about three possible rough areas in the piece, and two of them, I think I know how to fix. So I'm gonna go do that once I finish this entry.

Second, the later: I got word from horizon, one of the curators at the new Royal Canterlot Library site, that the answers I gave to their questionaire passed muster and will appear on the site when they induct "In Their Highnesses' Clandestine Corps" into their collection of Pony stories on or about December 20th. They're starting the collection tomorrow with a bang by interviewing Skywriter about his story "Princess Celestia Hates Tea" and will be moving on from there with another interview and story every Friday. The project's meant to step into the shoes RBDash47 will soon be vacating when the Pony Fiction Vault switches over to an "archive only" status.

There's always so much going on!

Someone got poetry onto EqD? :rainbowderp: Has that ever happened before?

They'd better watch out. Soon everyone will want to do the impossible.

I'm pretty sure:

The Pony Verse collection got posted over there...

As I suspected, I'm out of touch.

Well:

If there's two things that go well together, it's poetry and being out of touch. Now, if we can all of us manage to squeeze in another couple impossible things before breakfast, I think we'll be ready!

Mike Again

Congratulations on getting that EqD feature! I guess that's one more reason to read that poem of yours. The only reason I haven't yet is because my "Read Later" list is huge. And it doesn't exactly help that nearly all of my fanfic reading energies for the past few days have been channeled into editing a fic instead of reading new ones. But I will do it eventually!

You are a beacon of hope to all of us poets.

Thanks!

I'm always happy to be a beacon as long as I don't hafta set my head on fire. :twilightblush:

Nah, just wear a very large and shiny hat.

Ah. OK:

My usual tin-foil chapeau will do nicely, then. :scootangel:

As mentioned upthread, congratulations on the EqD feature for poetry! That puts you in a very prestigious crowd.

… Well, given the upcoming Librarying (we're going to need to come up with a good verb form of that. Royaling? … no, that just sounds dirty), prestige is pretty much a given at this point. But it's awesome to see more recognition for an underappreciated form in general, and for your work in particular.

Thanks!

Now that I've got poetry, adventure, romance, clop, slice-of-life, and alternate universe stories in various combinations, I suppose I'll hafta try a horror story. Now there's a genre I've never been able to manage!
