The Twilight War

The Shadow has fallen upon the land of Equestria.
Twilight Sparkle, once the most valiant defender of the realm of Equestria has been corrupted into a cruel mockery of her former self.
Her friend's wills lie broken and shattered at her own hooves, their bodies twisted into her own personal playthings.
Her own body, changed into a physical manifestation of the cruelty and avarice of The Shadow.
Now she leads the forces of her new dark goddess with but a singular goal in mind:
The total conversion of all sentient beings to the will of The Shadow.
But the valiant Prince and Princess of Canterlot will not surrender their lands to the darkness, and gird themselves and their lands for battle,
As an ancient foe of the Shadow is reborn into the world, possessing the one secret that could turn the tide.
And as plans that have steeped for millennium finally come to fruition,
A young filly, bearing a blade of vengeance, seeks to save the one thing she has left in the world to call her own,
Her friends.
And as the Last War begins to consume the world, Princess Celestia desperately prepares to make one final attempt to save the soul of her once most faithful student.
For if she fails, she will have no other choice than to stop Twilight Sparkle herself.

Needless to say, but I'm extremely excited for this. One concern though, in your last blog you said you would write other stories that weren't "massive, 100k+ word epics" and write other stuff for a bit. What changed?

Well for one, this thing isn't starting till the 1st of October. That's two whole months to decompress and write some short stuff.
As with all deadlines, I reserve the right to move that date forward at need - though I think I shouldn't need that long to get my mind back on its metaphorical feet. Trust me, in those two months I've got plenty of short projects to recharge my batteries on.
Holy bucking hell... this sounds like it is going to become epic as ever. But, noticed a slight mistake.
that second half there, 'the possess the one secret that could turn the tide' sounds pretty odd.

Hey Lapis. I enjoy your writinng, at least the style and format. It's very clean, and holds up to scrutiny very well. Just, the more I started digging and digging into The Code's Apprentice, the more dissatisfied I became with it. And now it comes out, rather than the supposed balance you were somewhat hinting at at the end of the first story, the plot is going to center on Twilight trying to shroud the world in darkness? I mean, my jimmies are pretty well rustled after I kept digging, and I have tried a dozen times to get into The Code of Harmony, but... it's kinda disapponting now, seeing confirmation that you're having Twilight go completely evil.

This is the 3rd story in the Shadow Trilogy, Following up from The Twilight Struggle and The Twilight Fall.
They're two entirely different series' of stories. ^^;

1281469 Dr. Negative has been slotted into my "Long Term Project" notation. As soon as Code of Harmony wraps up, I'm going to do a couple chapters of Dr. Negative while I finish outlining a couple of my short fics. If it turns out that I get into a groove, I might take a stab at finishing the whole thing. if not, I'll come back to it whenever I need a break from my other stuff.
TL;DR - More Dr. Negative is coming, but Im not giving a timeline on it at this point.

The point is supposed to be about Faustian (meaning Faust, the play, not Faust the Lauren) Bargains and other stuff.
But yeah, this is the other series of fics I've been writing. I dunno if you'll like them, but some people do apparently. I also have fun writing them.
