Every filly wonders why, when her parents describe what will happen on her wedding night, the story eventually becomes vague, and after much clearing of throats, the topic is deftly changed. There is a simple explanation: that is how reality works in Ponyville. Tasteful scene cuts are an ironclad law of nature.

Sounds legit!
Y'know, I wouldn't mind seeing a fic exploring this idea.
Like, maybe Shining Armor and Cadence keep trying to have sex and ending up with a 'fade to black' happening, it'd be fun.
Well, no one's questioned the barbie doll anatomy of everypony yet, so I guess that makes sense...
This has led to a fascinating pornography industry where scene transitions are considered "money shots."
Meanwhile, the non-pornographic film industry stagnates as cinematographers struggle to find ways of moving between scenes that don't violate decency laws.

Human viewers confused as pony cinema settles on what becomes known as the 'worldsweep cut', an overly elaborate scene transition that seems to have no benefit to justify its cost save that it absolutely, positively, does not resemble anypony's wedding night.
I like that idea. Presumably its also mediated by the same supernatural force that forces ponies to sing and dance in time when it is dramatically appropriate?

Quite.
