Yeah, I remember my first prom. Due to an electrical fire, the high school gym burnt down, trapping over 400 people inside and killing nearly three-quarters of them, including my date.

I skipped out on my junior prom, but I figured prom was something I ought to do at least once before getting out of high school, so I decided to attend my senior prom.

My mother loves the brand of wrapping paper that the school uses for fundraisers, and my school had a "sell enough wrapping paper, get a free prom ticket" promotion thingy. As the youngest child, this was my mom's last opportunity to buy the wrapping paper, so she got a bunch.

I wore my grandfather's tuxedo. Super classy, with tails and everything. (Although I forgot the cummerbund on my way out the door.

Of course, I wanted to look nice, so I shaved immediately before leaving to pick up my friend. When we arrived, it turned out that the theme was "Havana Nights," and they were handing out fake mustaches to all the guys.
If I'd wanted a mustache, I wouldn't have shaved mine off! (It was rather long before I shaved it, because I'm lazy about shaving.)
About halfway through the night several friends and I decided that the dance was utterly boring: poor music, little food, and barely anyone interested in dancing (to the poor music). So we got up and left, and we all went to a nearby Laser Tag place. The group of us just played laser tag in our tuxedos and dresses and high heels, and then ordered a couple pizzas to eat at the attached pizzeria.

Same here. Haven't attended any dances for the past three years but for senior year, just went to ALL of them just because. I didn't want to be that loser who kept making excuses as to why he wasn't going to the one prom of his life. Sometimes I think I made friends with the wrong people.
