And we'll never stop our journey...
It's probably fair to say that most of you don't follow me for what I think of stories I read. Based purely on story stats, most of you are probably here because I write--and occasionally, when the whim strikes me, update--a funny story about time travel pranks. And that's fine, I enjoy writing that stuff and am glad that people enjoy it. There are other folks out there that are much better reviewers, who can get into the real depths of a story and tell you what exactly is so great about it. I do my best to leave thoughtful feedback when I comment on a story, but often times it comes out as, "This story was awesome, and this specific part of it was awesome, and you're awesome."
Given this, I don't generally make a big fuss getting people to read things that I think they should read. There are reviewers, and review groups out there, that do a much better job than I do at that. If everyone gushed about everything they found to be great on this site, it would all fade into white noise. I don't want to be noise.
So I hope you all take it as a token of sincerity from me that the latest addition to my "Criminally Underrated Stories" list, To Love and Cherish by Midnight Herald, moved me so much that as soon as I finished reading it I had to drop everything and draw the above cover image for it, and then post a blog to direct as much attention towards it as I could.
This story sits at a dismally low view-count, and is unacceptably underrated. It will take you maybe ten minutes to read it, but it will leave you with feels that last far, far longer. It makes every bit of its short length count, packing more emotional weight than stories ten times its size. Please, please give this story a chance, and give the author some much-deserved credit. I would take it as a kindness.
Ten minutes? It didn't take me two.
It was definitely a great read though. Thanks for sharing it.
943596 Yeah, it's more of a max time. I read pretty slow, myself, so it took me about ten.
I read it a little while ago. I'm ashamed to say it didn't quite hit me until I read it again, just now, with the cover art in mind.
I've added it to my 'read later' list. I can't read it now, but I plan on taking a look. :3

Added to the read later list, thanks for the recommendation!
I read that a while back, and it really does deserve more attention. It's a hard-hitting marvel of economy -- it's brief, but not a word is wasted. Great stuff.
I'm sorry for offending you!
But in all seriousness, after giving it a read, I agree.
Even being tired and kinda "out there" there were still quite a few feels and I really should reread it someday.
It also manages to combine the sad facts of life with quite a bit of heartwarming wich is quite the feat for a 1k word fic, so yeah, thanks for pointing me towards it.
Thanks for bringing more attention to this story. I was quite a fan of it myself and am happy to see it get some more views. Fantastic image too
