Paul Asaran gave me (almost) an entire issue of his review! · 3:05am May 19th
Late Thursday evening I checked my fimfic notifications. There were... a lot of them. And the first 9 were comments on my stories, all by PaulAsaran, all saying "You can has review!" He spent 9 of his 10 story slots this week on me.
Paul has been posting reviews regularly for 10 years now, and he's only done a single-author review twice before AFAIK--once for Estee, the writer everyone knows but no one has seen; and once for Cynewulf, whose When the Levee Breaks still makes me feel like a hack every time I read it.
(Cynewulf still hates me, as far as I know. Also, it just occurred to me that the slang "hack" for "a writer who's pumping out stories for the money" comes from "hackney, an ordinary horse with no special training or talents". Which makes me a hack2.)
PLUS, Paul's doing Cold In Gardez next. That means he did me before CiG. Finally, payback for all the times you beat me in the write-off, CiG!
Paul's Thursday Reviews CCCLVII - Bad Horse Edition
My only complaint is that his review of my stories is his 667th blog post. So close, Paul. So close.
Yep. As soon as I opened the blog post, I jumped down to Trust, saw the rating, and decided to (re)read it.
I'm using that wherever I would normally use the derogatory "hack". I realized I forgot to implement half the code, but I made it work anyway thanks to an ugly hackney.
I actually liked Trust.
I like a great many things about this :)
I greatly regret that I did nothing at all special for my 666th blog. That was a criminal oversight on my part and I shall bear the shame for the rest of my days.
Oh, I also did one for Shrink Laureate! But I forgot to label it properly, likely because I was still figuring out how I wanted to handle the spotlight blogs.
It's an exhilarating and frightening feeling, getting reviewed. Even if the verdict is positive!
Curse you, Horse who is bad!
