Twilight loves living in Ponyville, though the change is a little bigger than she'd first expected. But things like homesickness and dealing with the way everyone seems to stare and whisper are all just part of moving somewhere new.

    Fundraiser for a Friend

    Hello,

We're doing a fundraiser for a friend who's in a bit of a tough spot. Any donations would be really appreciated, however there's also a whole host of goodies you can pick up if you're looking to chuck some money in! We're doing discounted writing commissions so if you've ever wanted me to write something I haven't had the basic human decency to write already, this can be your shot.

Hello,

I've always maintained I am going to finish Local. This is still the case, this isn't a cancellation blog let me get that out of the way quickly.

However, I think one thing that may have prevented me from getting on with it is that the task feels more enormous the longer the gap becomes. Coupled with the fact that, as of my original plans for the story, there's only supposed to be three more chapters left, with one being an epilogue.

What I've realised is that those chapters would have to be really long, and would likely end up too short for the sake of simply having them get done. And I don't want to do this. So, and I'm not gonna give some date the next chapter will be up because I don't want to miss anything and disappoint people, the main takeaway from this is this:

I'm trying to get new chapters out, I am working on it I promise, and I'll do my best. But the plan is to go with shorter chapters with more incremental progression of the story, like 1.5k to 3k, more frequently, as opposed to 5, 6, 7k ones because it's clearly not a recipe for me getting on with this story.

Cheers

I look forward to seeing your progress:-)

Omigosh, I remember reading Local alone in a dark room, getting all nervous and jumpy. And now it's getting more chapters! Good luck with the writing!

PS I will fool myself into hoping for a happy ending

Such serendipity! I was rereading it today, so I'm very surprised to have a notification about it.

Feel no pressure or worries. I know when you have a pending project that having it languish while seemingly having people waiting on baited breath can make it harder due to expectation, time, etc. But we're more than happy to wait, and 3K word chapters are more than pleasant for what you want to accomplish.

Do your best, I look forward to you at the end.

Your work is worth waiting for.

Thank you all very much, I really appreciate the encouragement. Thank you for still being interested in the story :)

So excited to see what happens! I'm always a fan of "it'll be done when it's ready to be done" :pinkiehappy:

Still here banging on the doors waiting for the Local movie adaptation starring Timothy Chalamet directed by Edgar Wright
