Exactly what it says on the tin! If anyone else is going (and if there's any kind of Fimfiction discord meetup group on it~), please let me know. With travel and etc. I likely won't be going to many of these, so I'd love to RL meet as many Fimfic peeps as I can.
There are few feelings for an author quite as wonderful as receiving fan art, all the more because I found it by sheer chance. While the artist MrRicharZ has taken it down from Derpibooru he was kind enough to let me use his work as cover art for the story.
I like that story enough (and have grown fond enough of listening to dramatic reads) that I have commissioned one from our own Skijarama!
(There is also commissioned cover art on the way, too.~)

Another great book to your fox having struck a chord with people!
You know, surprisingly for this fandom, I think this is the first time I’ve seen humanized fan art of either Opaline or Misty. The Mane 5, yes. But not these two, and despite being around for nearly a year less, that’s still shocking. I’m sure others exist, but that I didn’t happen across any until now is telling.
Apparently according to the comments the artists has worked on official MLP comics…? Doesn’t say who, though.

I'm not personally familiar, but I gather Pencils is an IDW artist (who does really good pones, good mix of detail and 'cartooniness') who also works freelance. Though given the potential for name-crossover and the diversity of art styles when I click the tag, I am not sure all of them are one and the same.

Oh derp, I’m blind, I missed the shoutout in your description. Yeah, Pencils started doing actual comic art with issue #69 (published August 2019) off having done some covers, and was actually the first fandom artist to graduate to doing official comics beyond covers. He’s done about ten altogether, though nothing since they started on G5. Didn’t know he still took fandom art commissions all these years later, though!
I like how the three of the primary colors of the piece are also three of Twilight Sparkle’s colors: lavender, purple, and mulberry. That ties in well to the themes of friendship and caring from the story.
Huh. This is the second time I've seen a humanized design for Opaline I've liked more than her regular design.

Well, Opaline's regular design is... not the greatest. It's not really bad, either, but it's not great.
