New Years Resolution · 9:22am Jan 2nd, 2024
I know it's a day late, but happy new year, everyone!
I wanted to do a few things with the post, and first on that list is acknowledging what happened, or didn't happen, this last year. I didn't manage to get out a single chapter, and that has eaten away at me the entire time. The chapter, while I genuinely want to finish it and get it out, is extremely hard to write for emotional reasons. I'm not sure how you'll all feel about it, and I'm not entirely sure how I'll feel about it. But I can't think of any better way to get through the narrative I want than by what I've got. From there, I have some ideas for fluff, and the last things to round out this story.
Which brings me to the next bit, my New Years Resolution.
It's actually quite simple, really. My resolution this year is to outright finish my current season and ideally get started on the next. I have some ideas for an EqG side story to go between the seasons, but either way I want to get onto season 4 sometime this year. It means I'm going to have to push myself, but it's worth it to tell the story I want, and to see to it you all get to read it.
I thank you all so much for your patience, and as always, I hope you enjoy it.
I’ve waited this long for the next chapter, and I can wait longer if that’s what it takes. True art takes time to finish, and much of that time is spent trying to regain the passion, energy, and inspiration for it. It can take a huge emotional toll on the author, especially if they genuinely love the work that they’ve put out.
I’ve been there before too, far too many times. Trust me, you will get through this, and when you do, it’ll feel like a weight has finally been lifted off your shoulders. Stay strong, Boltsinger!

I agree with him, it takes time and patience to write art, and sometimes life can get in the way so it’s understandable why it’s taking so long to write a story when something happens outside your projects. I wish and pray for you the best of luck for a better year for you. I’m looking forward to see what you write for your story.
