Chapter 18 is... still a work in progress. · 3:42pm Oct 28th, 2023
I've been working on this chapter for longer then I think anyone will expect. There was a time during this project where I had more then the next five chapters written, waiting to be edited and released, but I've since caught up. I've rewritten this chapter a few times without being happy, though I'm finally taking it in a direction that I can be happy with!
But I still think I may take a small break from working on it... Well, a conscious break. I honestly havn't been getting nearly enough writing done for the past six months then I'd like. Possibly longer. Finding the motivation to do it has become increasingly difficult, especially considering my own closest friends won't even bother to try reading it ><
I've been reading some exceptional books and fics recently, several of which are far better thought out and written then my own work. Which is good! Reading stories better then mine, be they be better at writing characters, story, plot, or world building, it always gives me something to learn from! I just need to take a bit and let my brain calm down, to avoid trying to compare my own work to the work of people who're more skilled then I am. I'll improve at my own pace, and while it's disheartening to find my own work lacking, it means I can make it better! In the meantime, I think I'll reread some FoE, either the original or one of the side fics to get myself back into the Fallout Equestria mood
If you haven't read it yet, I'd say give Wasteland Economics a try. It's unfinished and dead unfortunately, but what's there is some of the best FoE writing around imo. Glad to hear you feel like you're back on the right track, even if you're taking a step back

I've had that one on my read list for awhile o: I'll finally give it a look, then! Reading other FoE has always been an effective way of getting my brain in the writing mindset! Plus, fun new fics to read are always good, though it's sad it won't have an ending </3
