As a midwesterner, I love it when our memes happen right in front of me. · 8:39pm Aug 3rd, 2023

Nearly choked on my breakfast this morning. That was a Bed Bath & Beyond a month ago.

Dude, seasonal stuff has been happening earlier and earlier all my life.

Just wait; once Halloween is over, most storefronts are going to SKIP Thanksgiving decor and go right to fuckin' Xmas.

Then right after that, Valentine's Day.

Bed, Bath and Beyond partly furnished my flat in the US. Shame they went bust.

Bed, Bath and Beyond will be around in Spirit

I can't see a Bed, Bath & Beyond store without thinking of that crazy guy who was convinced BBB and GameStop would merge.

I heard Spirit plans on opening for 2024 on the 3rd of November...2023. :rainbowlaugh:

Nah, 4th of July. :rainbowlaugh:

yeah, more and more venues are determined to "beat the rush" and provide you an "early shopping experience."

The saddest thing is, you're not wrong. I've seen this happen plenty of times. If you've been to Cracker Barrel before, they have their decorations up extremely early, regardless on what holiday is coming. Even my dad hates how businesses throw stuff up prematurely before it's even close to any holiday in the year.

Ah, yes. The infamous Spirit Halloween meme has come to grace us again. I love how this meme continues to be relevant. :rainbowlaugh:

I'm actually curious as to where this meme originated from. I know that we have a Spirit of Halloween where we are that comes once every year, but it's made me curious where the meme started.

Haven't been back to our local Cracker Barrel since the absolutely horrendous service me and my mom got last time over a year ago.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with that restaurant. I'm guessing they kept forgetting what you ordered or the hosts were acting rude to you and your mom? :twilightoops:

Carryout orders kept getting prioritized over people who were dining in. People that ordered after us got their food before us. Kitchen manager came out and gave us bullshit non-answers of "I'm so sorry, we're very busy tonight".

The wait for our food was just over an hour.

I'm unfamiliar with the meme but...

Carryout orders kept getting prioritized over people who were dining in.

That would be fine if it was a pizza delivery place but not a more proper restaurant.

Wouldn't even be fine in a pizza joint, honestly.

Make the tickets in the same order that you receive them. Period.

Maybe that much common sense is why I'll never make Manager, lol.

Wouldn’t surprise me one little bit…:twilightangry2:

I used to be a manager at a little ceasers and mobile and online orders always took priority. It was official policy. Even our order tracker would bump up any online/mobile order to the top of the queue. Yeah, it lead to a lot of pissed of customers. Can't even blame them, it's a stupid ass policy.

I work foodservice at our local college and while I do agree with you that over an hour without any apparent work to make it better for you, like I don't know, a % off your bill, a complementary dessert or something.

A couple of years ago my mom and I were in Pennsylvania on an overnight trip to pick up some puppies that my mom had adopted from a family-organization, and we went to an Irish Pub restaurant, the food was excellent, but the service...we sat for like 20-30 minutes after our meal concluded to discover our server had clocked out for the night, They didn't get a very good tip as best I recall.

Anyways, where I work foodservice, we mostly make burgers and fries kind of food , but during the lunch rush in the school year, sometimes we have to prioritize the food items due to how long they take, for example slap down several burger orders and while those are cooking start on fries, or sandwiches that don't take as long. It's not always easy to simply go in ticket order and if we are REALLY busy, we sometimes go over on the "5-8 minute" slot that we are "supposed" to get things out on.

Again no excuse for your experience at Cracker Barrel, that was definitely bad service. In an overarching kind of way, thought I'd provide a look behind the counter as it were.

Sounds like the last time we went there last year. Took WAY too long. Cracker Barrel around here is always crazy busy, they should have learned how to handle it.

And I was in Lowes yesterday and they already have at least some of their Halloween stuff out too. I fully expect the first of the Christmas decor to come out before Halloween is done.

So no joke, 2 days after you posted this, I went into town with my mom, and the BB&B near my moms work place also became a Spirit Halloween, faded silhouettes of the letters from the former building and everything. (didn't think to mention this til now)

In my area some of the empty anchor stores are being filled by storage places.
