Hello there, fellow bronies and pegasisters. 
Sooo, yeah. I know it is kind of random writing this update out of nowhere, but I felt like people needed to know, at those who are in the know. However, to recap. Four years ago, (holy Celestia, has it been that long?!) I wrote one of my first fan fictions here on the site. As the title this thread would let you know, this is of course Fallen Knight.
I enjoyed writing it, and I had big plans for it, but I knew after a while I was way in over my head. So I decided to leave it on a note that would leave it open, but also give a sort of ending. 
I was never really satisfied with how it went, and reading it now, I cringe a little in a fun nostalgia way. Like, who names their Jedi OC Revan Blake? Erghh, I got shivers just writing that. 
Anyway, there is a lot I want to do over, and I have spend a lot of time thinking it over. So finally, after a lot of thought, I am starting to get to where I want to go with this re-write. Yes, re-write, not a sequel. I thought it be fun to share the changes I have planned, and some of the things I have decided to add on.
I will also love to hear you guys thoughts on certain things, if you want to comment on it, but I leave those questions for last. 
Change 1, Anthro Ponies: Yeah, the first story had the regular ponies from the show. While that can be fun, it also made it awkward when I made Rainbow Dash Revan's padawan.
Change 2, name change: Revan Blake is just too cringe, its not bad, but I don't like the sound of it. Instead I have changed it to Carth Saris, which sounds more like it belongs in a Star Wars universe.
Change 3, second Jedi: So I have also decided to add a second Jedi to join Carth. A Zabrak named Danax Khalare, who will be Carth's ally and friend, but the two are very different Jedi.
Change 4, Clones and Droids: I have always loved the idea of Clones in MLP, prober soldiers. But I also felt it be pretty interesting to have the battle droids join them, which would add a lot more conflict, stakes, and story. I am really looking forward to writing how the ponies react to the clones.
So those were the main four changes. There is more, but I felt these were the more important ones. 
So for now, I would love to hear your thoughts in a few things. 
1: Should Rainbow Dash still become a padawan?
2: If not Rainbow Dash, then who?
3: Should Celestia still be my main character's romance?
4: From which point in the MLP series would be interesting to have them crash into their dimension?
5: How do you feel about the changes?
6: Should Jester stay in the story?
So yeah, those are my questions, the firs three are the most important to me, but I would love to hear from anyone in the comment sections if you have any thoughts.

As someone who hasn't read the Original one, I'm looking forward on what are you planning on doing in the story.
I haven't really watched starwars myself (except passively watching when someone else had it on), and neither have I read the original story this is a rewrite of, so I cannot comment there. The only thing I will comment on, is that I personally don't like anthro ponies. I'm fine with humans, I'm fine with ponies, I'm even fine with EQG mirror portal human-ponies (although I tend not to read exclusively EQG fics). But I just don't like the idea of bipedal ponies. I like mlp for its equine species and uniqueness in how different things need to be to fit a quadrupedal frame. For me, anthro ponies take away everything special about the concept of ponies. I'm a little bit repulsed at the idea of anthropomorphising ponies. That's not to say that a story is automatically made bad by being anthro, it's mostly just a stylistic choice. But I tend to try and mentally replace anthro mental images with quadrupedal pony images when reading.
I haven't read the original, so I can't comment on awkwardness caused by quadrupedal ponies, but I personally think it's a unique feature of ponies and forms and interesting culture shock between them and other crossover species.
But that's just my personal opinion. You're free to go with whatever you like in your own story. I understand that some people do choose anthro ponies because humans are naturally bipedal and it can be difficult to reinvent everything in a story to work with no arms and four legs and have been aware of that reasoning for a while. It's difficult maintain consistency between hands and legs and hooves and feet. I might have a look at the original story to see what it's like, but it's unlikely that I'll be reading the new one if the anthro tag is present.
Everything sounds great, except for the second Jedi. It's just a personal dislike for stories with two or more humans or in which the author tries to make two main characters. But of course, my preferences, just my preferences, there are no stories that will 100% please everyone. I'm only here to express my support for the author. Level up!
The story will change a lot, and as a person who read the original and fell in love with it, it will be very questionable for me. Will it still remain the story it was (in the HEART and POINT, I mean) or it will fall to the depths of corruption...?
Time will show.
But I personally hope you don't destroy it (like you would ever do that, lol) and just make it better.
And I'm sorry that you're removing Revan as main character, he's my favorite character from Star Wars universe... But, your story, your rules.
