And so begins the artist collaboration meant to illustrate A Kindled Change. This first piece is drawn by an artist that should already be familiar to all my followers. SkyeyPony on Deviant Art. Her lighting and shadowing work is truly a sight to behold every time, and I felt there was no one more perfect to draw chapter one's illustration.
This illustration shows the first moments of our journey. Standing before Fate's Mistress. Before this moment, we learn that Fate herself is faceless, senseless, and ruthless. It preys on the hearts, minds, and fires of the mindless Formless. And we learn that Fate's Mistress is all those things, only doubly so. Her vitriol is plain to see, and the air that surrounds her is vile and malevolent. Yet somehow, there is a strange allure hidden beneath that turbid mystique. A glint of beauty and loveliness made obvious by her voice that speaks in reverberating doubles. A dichotomy between what was, and what is.
And only by the hands of Fate can we begin our journey to understand why that is.
