I'm going to tell you now so you don't have TWE banging on your door as soon as it's up, get an editor. And make sure that the story isn't some massive epic.

A good starting spot is a nice one-shot, basically a one-chapter story. Quick, easy, good for any small ideas so you can just run it off and test your own abilities.

I don't want to bring you down, but this is from personal experience; huge ideas that you don't plan for months when you're just starting off WILL fall flat. Start the climb slow, and use ideas that interest you and others.
