This story is a sequel to The Soul of a Pony

On a trip to see friends in Manehattan, Spike falls ill and cannot be woken up. Without knowing why he's asleep, there's little hope of finding a remedy, but it's not as though anyone can just ask him what's wrong. Well, it's a good thing Twilight Sparkle isn't just anyone.

Twilight hasn't had occasion to travel into anypony's head recently, but if there were ever a time to dust off an old spell, this is it. The only problem is, she can't go in herself this time.

If only there were another talented unicorn in Manehattan who could help...

Twilight Sparkle is a mare of legend. Time and again, she has faced impossible threats, and with the help of her friends, she has always triumphed. Nightmare Moon, Discord, Sombra, Sunset Shimmer, and now Tirek have tried and failed to best her, and each trial has only made her stronger still.

But what of the oldest princesses? Luna and Celestia may be old beyond imagining, and they've seen things that would drive lesser beings mad. Before that, though, they are sisters. Sisters fight. Sisters get angry with each other.

Sisters forgive.

This is an experiment. Stories can be written without dialogue, to be sure, but can a story be told with nothing else? One chapter, no tags, nothing but two sisters talking.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind," or so the saying goes. It is a reminder that revenge, no matter how justified it may seem, never solves anything. It is also completely irrelevant to this story.

Instead, we join the Great and Powerful Trixie, who has once again returned to Ponyville to find Twilight Sparkle. This time, however, she comes seeking the help of a friend. Something old and dark is stirring, and she's convinced it's out for blood.

Twilight reads about a way to view a pony's soul, to see everything about them laid bare. When she tries it on her friends, will she be able to look at them the same way again? Or will the secrets hidden in their hearts drive her away?

(Yes, I borrowed the idea of a "soulgaze" from The Dresden Files, because it's something that really fascinates me. It's not a crossover, just an idea.)
