After finding out that he is dying of an illness and has barely a year to live, Soarin makes a point to move to Ponyville in hopes of living the rest of his life in peace. After moving in with the help of Rainbow Dash, he finds that and more when he meets Applejack. His relationship with her and the rest of Ponyville is strengthened daily, but now he must try to find the strength to tell her the truth.

Spike had learned his lesson, not to use his friend's position for his own gain. He has been since forgiven, but Luna thinks otherwise. She asks him to a meet in her personal room. There she tells him the reality of power and how she almost fell to it just like he did.
