In 2051, mankind arrived at the pinnacle of their existence. With Humans spread out amongst the Solar System, revolutionary technology without limits in our grasp, and the promise of an even brighter future provided us with unhindered aspiration for our species... but how high can we truly be able to fly before our wings simply fail us? Maybe we received our answer in April of that same year. A depression in the fabric of local space-time, known as the Friedrich Singularity, is consuming Earth. One day, nothing of Earth will be left due to this, and it's a race against time in order to find a solution for the survival of the Human race.

On the other side of the Singularity, another parallel universe exists, and so, a parallel Earth. However, this Earth is significantly different from ours in every way, right down to the sub-atomic structure of the most basic of things. On this parallel Earth lives several multitudes of sentient species, ranging from the battle-hardened, wise and honor bound Gryphons, the calm and reserved Zebras, the often greedy, but experienced and wise dragons, and lastly, the mysterious, peaceful, intelligent Ponies. Understanding the magnitude of this event, the Ponies offer their advanced mastery of what they call, "magic", to the Humans, and together, the situation was quickly assessed. However, the truth is not always what you want to hear.

As it turns out, our atomic structure doesn't fair well with magic, and the immediate solution is simple: With a magically tolerant body, such as a Pony's, the human in question may be able to live another day in a magical environment. And so, conversion was the likely plan for Humanity's future, if another solution could not be found. However... Humanity always seems to find loopholes.

Martin Industries, a multinational corporation who has been at the forefront of scientific innovation for over 30 years, is now on the brink of something extraordinary: something that could redefine the survival of the Human race, rendering conversion obsolete. But what does this mean for the billions of men, women, and children who payed the price, their Humanity, in order to ensure their continued existence? Some believe that it would be best if this technology was never allowed to see the light of day, and both Humans and Ponies alike are willing to die in order to protect what they believe is the will of a higher power. But, within this conflict, one question will arise, and it may or may not be able to be answered:

Were the hooves worth it in the end?

Based off of the Conversion Bureau universe, this story explores the neutral ground between both Human and Pony. Not very traditional TCB, as the ponies tend to be a lot more, "human", if you catch my drift. They aren't "Friendship Bots" or warmongering animals. They are, to put it simply, moral, sentient beings, just like Humanity tends to be. But they can also be just as horrible as the worst criminal mastermind that you can think of. If you're new to this kind of fan-fiction, do not fear, I go pretty in-depth explaining my universe and Conversion itself. Criticism is always welcome, especially as I am trying a new style of writing.

At the forefront of every change to ever come upon us as a species, there have been those who are willing to readily stand against it... and those who will readily fight those who oppose it. The entirety of human history itself is an example of this, and as long as there are those willing to refuse change, there will always be those who are willing to enforce it, no matter the consequence.

And so, at the pinnacle of humanity's Space Renaissance in the year CE 2051, the mighty influence of change was suddenly felt throughout the entire world. An anomaly: an unknown physical possibility prior to its existence, suddenly existed off the coast of Hawaii, and threatened to consume the earth, and the rest of the Solar System with it. It came to be known as the Friedrich Singularity: a portal to a parallel universe which in some ways seemed very much like our own, however, in other ways, this parallel universe seemed to differ from ours in every impossible way imaginable. The only way to pass through the portal, however, was to become one of the parallel universe's own in order to survive the harsh nature of their world. For once, regardless of race, gender, social status, economical status, political status, or otherwise, the entirety of mankind was faced with a single choice: convert, or die. For some, other ways of surviving the impending apocalypse existed in their minds. However, deep inside, they understood the choice that they would have to eventually make. The universe is nothing if not unpredictable.

The Ponies, the dominant sentient race of their world, offer conversion as a "simple" alternative to the end of the world. Conversion promises friendship, harmony, and a peaceful existence for all of those who wish to live on. However, one thing is for certain: Everybody lies.

To one young Nathan Frost struggling to cope with his new-found changes, these two worlds, and those who inhabit them, offer him nothing but pain and misery. Even his parents have seemingly abandoned him in his only time of need. He finds himself unsure of his alliances, which leaves only his truest friends standing by his side.

As is the nature of the world, change once again holds Humanity in its clutches, and as organizations rise up to oppose change... There will always be those who rise up to enforce it.

And soon enough, Nathan Frost will discover that he's smack in the middle of it.

Welcome to Project Vanguard, citizen. The world is changing, so why not help it along?

Humanity is on the brink of a golden age. Interplanetary travel has allowed mankind to venture beyond our atmosphere with utmost ease and efficiency. We have achieved brilliant technology that allows us to run our automobiles on Hydrogen fuel, biotic implants that allow us to become superhumans, and nanotechnology that can perform the most intricate and swift operations for us. But, have we come this far for nothing? In all manner of impossibility, another Universe, Equestria, penetrates our own cosmos. The former of the two, Equestria, threatens to overlap our own universe, overwritting all of existance as we know it. The Only solution? Well, there is no solution really, but there is Conversion. Conversion allows Humans to live with sanctity, knowing that they are safe from the inevitable rise of Equestria. Of course, the price is your own Humanity, as you must relinquish it in order to become one of them. Many refuse the possibility of it, but they are only delaying the inevitable. This brings us to our main character, Delvin. Delvin is a freelance mercenary and the son of one of the greatest Human innovators of all time. Living in a city dedicated to Human innovation and superiority, becoming an Equestrian was the last thing on his mind. But when coming in contact with a deadly drug, his life takes an unexpected turn down a one way road.
*In my own variation of Blaze's Conversion Bureau universe, Earth is not the dystopia many CB universes entail. Earth is slightly better off than we predict it to be in 50 years, and when the ponies arrive, all manner of hell is released. Although welcomed by the United Earth Government, many still oppose them for their unwelcome arrival. Earth's citizens in turn are more reluctant when faced with Conversion and the harbingers of the supposed apocalypse. This means that the Human Liberation Front has one of the biggest followings ever and there's LOTS OF PONY RACISM. NOBODY LIKES PONIES IN FUTURE EARTH. GET OUT! With that said, Enjoy!*
