So! Back in December, I said this:
in 2020, I'm going to gussy up and post as many of those stories as I can, either as stand-alone short stories or in my minific collection, Bantam Tales.
Hey everyone! Been a while since we talked, hasn’t it?
Well, if you’re like me, your FiMFic feed has been dominated, these last couple of days, by posts that aren’t directly FiMFic-related. I mean, most of them are, in an indirect way (hint: what are the key themes of the show?), but perhaps you find them a little bit off-topic, considering the nature of this site.
So here’s a post that’s about story advice, and absolutely nothing else.
If you're here on FiMFiction, it almost certainly means you like to read stories. But what about listening to stories? Ponyfiction has a deep and talented body of fanfic readers, and if you enjoy audiobooks, you no doubt know at least a few of their names.
About a week ago, Brook the Book Horse sent me a message to ask if she could do a reading of A White Hearth's Warming. I was pleased as punch by the thought, of course, and so it is that I come to you today with a new fanfic reading, for the auditorily inclined among you.
So, all the cool kids did this a week ago. But if you're an uncool adult like me, here's your late-to-the-party reminder: it's December, and that means it's Santa hat time! In that delightful tradition started by The Descendent... what, seven, eight years ago? Time flies... feel free to edit a Santa hat onto your chosen FiMFic avatar. If you think it's cute holiday fun, join in! And if you don't, well, don't.
Since you're following me, I'm sure you're well aware of the physical copy of my story, The Purloined Pony, that RBDash47's put together. I mean, I keep blogging about it whenever something new and exciting happens... anyway, something new, but very much not exciting happened a little while ago: I got a C&D from the people who make the books that inspired me to write that fanfic.
Hopefully, you all got a chance to look at my previous blogpost; if you've got any interest in getting a copy of The Purloined Pony for yourself, then rest assured that you can get one whenever you like; it's print-on-demand, so no worries about running out of copies or the like.
I was going to post about this after Bronycon, but I thought I'd give it a week or so, so that it wouldn't get lost amidst everyone's post-Bronycon blogs. And being me, a week or so passed and I completely forgot I'd meant to post this.
But now I've been reminded, so here we go!
