Santa Hats and New Year's Resolutions · 4:02pm Dec 8th, 2019
So, all the cool kids did this a week ago. But if you're an uncool adult like me, here's your late-to-the-party reminder: it's December, and that means it's Santa hat time! In that delightful tradition started by The Descendent... what, seven, eight years ago? Time flies... feel free to edit a Santa hat onto your chosen FiMFic avatar. If you think it's cute holiday fun, join in! And if you don't, well, don't.
As long as I'm making a blogpost, I figured this would be a good time to go public with a New Year's resolution, too. See, I don't do very much ponyfic writing anymore, but I try to still stay at least a little active. And while most of what I write ultimately ends up on this site, I've got about a dozen short stories and minifics of various sorts that aren't here for various reasons. Well, one reason, really; they've all got one or more significant flaws that I poked at, couldn't find a good way to fix, and then abandoned.
But a lot of those stories are ones I still consider promising (if flawed), so here's my resolution: in 2020, I'm going to gussy up and post as many of those stories as I can, either as stand-alone short stories or in my minific collection, Bantam Tales. No promises on how many old-new stories I actually end up posting (I know offhand that there are two that I sincerely doubt I'll be able to fix to my satisfaction), but I'm going to at least take a second crack at all of them, see what I can do. Hopefully that gets at least five or six pieces of writing onto the site; we'll see.
That, and try to write a new story or three. A couple new ones a year seems to be about my speed, when we exclude all writing except ponyfic.
