-Excerpt from Atrus's journal-
I realized, the moment I fell into the fissure, that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned. It continued falling into that starry expanse, of which I had only a fleeting glimpse. I have tried to speculate where it might have landed—I must admit, however, such conjecture is futile. Still, the question of whose hands might one day hold my Myst book are unsettling to me. I know my apprehensions might never be allayed, and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written.

I've been stuck here for more than a day now. All the different gizmos around this island confuse me, and the only two around that I can talk to don't seem trustworthy. I don't know what to do... I'm completely lost without my friends.

Twilight would know what to do.

Derpy Hooves, Ditzy Doo, even just plain "Klutz." Born with the name "Bright Eyes" because of her beautiful golden eyes, she just sort of picked up the other two names because of her clumsiness, which was, in part, a side effect of her Strabismus. Despite being made fun of as a filly, Bright Eyes made friends in the small town of Ponyville, got a job as a delivery mare, earning enough to support a family, and even adopted a daughter. Things were going alright for her now that she'd found friends and family.

Oh how she wished that could never change.
