Back inside Stable 4, I was destined for greatness. Outside, I was nothing more than a filly. At the same time, I also seemed to fit in very well into the horribly violent Equestrian wasteland, more than you would expect from somepony my age.

You're a beutiful monster!!!!

Yeah! I understand you u.u
Tell me, Project Horizons "feels" like one big "trip"?
Would you reread it?

Yeah, I'd say so. That's one of its strengths; as a reader you get to feel the same way as the characters.
And... Well... I'm in the middle of my second read of PH haha. I've been reading it, slowly, over the past three years. It's what inspired me to write FotW.

Thank you
Some people say a man is made outta mud
Poor man's made outta muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bone
A mind that's weak and a back that's strong
Load sixteen tons, what do ya get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the Company Store
If you want organized rebellion and unionization, that's how you get it.

>”That's fair. I've come to realise I don't like the same things as other people about Fo:E. I like the tragic, dark setting, but I don't like the whole "big bad hero goes through the wasteland being a big bad hero and saves everypony, the end". It's why I like Murky Number Seven and Project Horizons more than the original Fo:E.”
Please excuse my rambling, I have something to say on this. To start off with, there’s nothing really wrong with you, your character, your opinion, yada yada.
I dunno. In another timeline I’d share in your love of tragic, dark settings, but unfortunately I’m a history buff. There’s only so many details you can hear about Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union or imperial japan before your eyes start glazing over and your appetite for dark, depressing stuff has been brutally murdered via excessive caloric intake. I’m a fan of battles and stuff that goes boom, especially aircraft, but at some point even that gets a little much for one day.
History is just too depressing for me to properly enjoy depressing stuff, same with the world in general.
I tried to read PH once, I gave it an honest shot, but for the reasons above I just couldn’t get past the first chapter. I ended up reading it to completion with blackjack leaving her stable, but all the grimdark from that and the knowledge that it’s basically only going to be that from that point onwards discouraged me. It’s probably a good fic for the type of people who like that stuff, given there’s people who’ll fanatically defend it, it just ain’t for me.
For me, I like the fic for the (sorta) morally grey characters. I like the fact that almost every negative action one of these clowns make you could make a case for why they had to do it, and that to me makes this a cool anti hero tale. You could have people fanatically arguing about if the characters are decent people or not, and that’s cool to me as well.
If you want a movie with a cool grimdark setting though, go check out “all quiet on the western front” on Netflix, should be about what you’re looking for.

Yeah, I'm the complete opposite. I find History to be mind-boggingly boring, and even the bad shit that's happened just has me shrugging; always just feels way too far removed from the reality I'm living to truly care about that.
>Morally grey characters
Same, I'm a huge sucker for that. I try to keep my characters somewhat morally ambiguous for that specific reason (though I can't say I've had amazing success with some of them}
