An anthro take on the Rule 63 version of Twilight Sparkle, Dusk Shine, in an Equestria almost exactly as normal ... oh who am I kidding, it's a crack-verse with some serious social and political undertones. But this is mostly for the giggles, mates.

How long is this story going to be? It is really good I don't want it to end.

As long as my brain can keep up with the strain and people keep liking the story. I can promise nothing else.
Honestly I’m not sure how to feel about Spine being only 9 years old. I know she’s a dragon and ages differently but still...
Is Tia gonna start chasing Dusk when he becomes an alicorn?

Who says she hasn't already started? Tia plays the long game...
... Right. So I'm not sure how to put this comment into words exactly, but I'll give it a shot.
So I don't think it's for me. I understand from the beginning chapter that you made this story as a means of coping with the inanity of those around you in terms of the current sociopolitical climate, but other stories of the like tend to have something... more to them. Likable characters, a driving force, a point, perhaps. But I don't really see those qualities in this story. There's such a focus on the negative; the frivolity of the rich, the incompetence of politicians, spoiled rich nonces the world around, that I can't find any redeeming quality in this story whatsoever.
This story's coming out in 2018, eight years after the show has had time to develop, yet Cadance is portrayed in the most baffling of ways. It passes the point of absurdity and crosses straight into mean-spirited contempt for me.
So I can't continue reading this.
I'm sorry.
9276641 Please, do not apologise and please don't feel you have to keep reading anything that makes you upset or doesn't grab your attention.
For me, it's less the 'current' climate and more the garbage I've seen over the past twenty years, from where I was heading into my late teens to now. All this "We're changing the world!" but really the only people who actually see any benefit are a rare few while the rest of the folk we're supposed to be helping get out of a hole centuries of previous social pressure pushed them into in the first place seem to get jack-shit and then can't complain without being painted to be greedy after all the 'help' they surely must have recieved. I've been a worker at a support group that started off as a group for single mothers that, after the big family court shakeup in Australia so long ago, ended up completely divorcing itself from that concept and instead choosing to help single and divorced parents after a 'visitor' from the new status-quo in charge decided to give a little speech about how, if the mothers in the group wanted full custody, just accuse the father of spousal rape.
It's almost impossible to prove after the fact, it immediately paints the partner in the most negative and vile of lights and even if the judge somehow throws out the complaint without shooting themselves in the face with a permanent record of ignoring such a devastating claim, the slander will stick in most people's subconsciousness and you're likely to gain far more custody than the accused will.
The only thing that gives that memory any silver lining is how quickly so many of the people in the group stood up and started screaming at this poisonous little toad that she grabbed her laptop and bolted within minutes of her little speech and the people who had started the group immediately started a motion at the next management meeting to immediately remove ourselves from any connection to the family courts to avoid similar circumstances in the future. People will still stand against such hateful movements given the chance, but the fact this was a person who was part of a group that was supposed to be replacing a extremely misogynistic group that stonewalled women in the divorce and family courts was extraordinarily depressing. We hadn't seen an enlightenment of our legal system happen, we'd just changed who was getting shat on from up high. Even now, so many years later and with so many changes to the roster, the australian family courts still chant the mantra "Children need mothers, not fathers." and I see so many kids coming in to see us whose parents are either devastated by a ex-partner who spends all their childcare money on themselves and not their children or who are so embittered by the courts leaving them in the hands of a parent who cannot handle being the sole care-giver due to a social agenda rather than the actual needs of those children.
Back and forth, from the Left and from the Right, this constant hateful, petty screeching and mud-slinging all in the name of 'Four More Years' or personal vendettas has soured me quite heavily on society and people as a whole, although ironically it has given me a far greater appreciation of the rare few nice people you'll meet in life as a consequence. I wanted to portray the incompetencies and social hypocrisies in a more light-hearted and slapstick kind of way, but without editors I fear my bitterness towards the way all these 'social advances' have completely bypassed the people they were supposed to be helping has probably straight up polluted the story outright.
I'll try to keep the story moving in a less embittered direction, and my apologies I didn't keep the story moving in a more funny and less bitter direction. Thank you, F14m3rz, for the honest feedback and I hope the next story you find is more to your liking.
