Canterlot was bursting with joy, laughter, and tons of partying. It was Equestria’s 400th anniversary of freedom, and nopony could be any more happier. Princess Celestia was standing on her balcony, wearing a beautiful golden dress with diamonds embedded in it. She merrily waved a hoof to a passing stallion, sincerely wearing a wide grin on her face. Celestia turned her head, noticing Princess Luna approaching the older Diarch.
“Why do you look so downtrodden, Lulu? Everyone’s having so much fun in the town square, you should be joining them.” Celestia said with a joyous tone in her voice.
“I would really love to, sister. But I’m afraid I discovered something rather unsettling.” Luna replied. Celestia’s smile immediately faded from the Sun Diarch’s face.
“Can you show me, sister?” Celestia asked. Luna nodded and led her older sister to a second balcony, where a golden telescope sat in the center of the platform.
“A few days ago, was taking a casual peek at the sky when I noticed something peculiar. Thou would want to see this.” Luna said, pointing Celestia to the eastern side of the sky. Celestia pointed the telescope at the direction she was directed to and peered through the scope, resting her eye on a glowing object. While it was miles away from Equestria, Celestia knew the light was coming from a meteor.
“Lulu, meteors pass us all the time.”
“Not this one. I asked one of our scientists to determine it’s trajectory. He proposed that the meteor is on a collision course with the Crystal Empire. Though it was too early to tell.” Luna explained in a worrying tone. Celestia gasped in shock, rubbing her head in worry.
“Do you know when the meteor will hit?” Celestia asked.
“It was supposed to land in three days. However, I checked up on it just last night and it seems to have gotten off course and now not only has it been redirected towards Appaloosa, I calculated the time of arrival...” Luna replied.
“When will it arrive...?”
“In less than three hours.”

Twilight and the others had finally arrived to Canterlot, none of them being able to contain their excitement. Pinkie was literally bouncing off the walls, giggling in a near maniacal manner.
“LOOK AT ALL THE POPCORN AND THE COTTON CANDY AND THE CHOCOLATES! AND THERE’S EVERY SINGLE FLAVOR OF CAKE IN EXISTANCE, TOO! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I’M GETTING A MENTAL SUGAR RUSH!!!’ Pinkie exclaimed happily, tripping on a garbage can and flopping into a concession stand by accident.
“I’M OKAY!” Pinkie yelled, walking out like nothing happened. Twilight giggled at Pinkie’s excessive amount of hype, watching the pink Earth pony frolick with glee. Soon after, the rest of the Main 6 joined in the fun, leaving Twilight and Spike alone.
“I hear the cotton candy’s a big hit with the visitors.” Spike said, licking his lips in anticipation of tasting the sweet, strawberry-flavored bundle of edible pink fluff he had come to love. Twilight developed a craving for cotton candy herself.
“Well, we just gotta see for ourselves, Spike.” Twilight said, trotting over to the cotton candy stand. Seemingly out of nowhere, Twilight felt her head swell with a throbbing sensation.
“Ow, my head...” Twilight groaned.
“Twily, what’s the matter?” Spike asked.
“It’s nothing, Spike. I’m fi- AHH!”
Twilight wasn’t able to finish her statement when the alicorn suddenly froze in place. A vision had spontaneously appeared to the alicorn. It was pitch black, with the exception of three pairs of crimson eyes glaring at her. Three draconic heads emerged from the darkness, baring their razor-sharp teeth. In a flash, the three draconic heads opened their jaws and lashed out at a frozen Twilight. Finally, she snapped out of her vision-induced trance and backed up, shaking her head.
“Twilight!” Spike yelped. Twilight managed to regain focus, rubbing her head again.
“.... We need to see Princess Luna. I don’t think the nightmare I had last night was normal...” Twilight stated, heading towards the massive castle standing before them.
The Death Song of Three Storms is coming.
