Fluttershy, for all her mindless rage, was having no more luck than Rainbow Dash. In her state, she couldn't form any kind of plan of attack and simply zipped around the golem, pounding her armored hooves into whatever she could reach.
Side note: the armour is my favourite power in the game.
Seeing the mane 6 5 trying to figure out ways how to use - and how to cope with - their new circumstances is sure going to be fun. Like this fight showed, utilizing their newfound powers to their full extent is going to be neither easy nor all that instinctive. Should be a quite interesting journey and I can't wait to see it
As for Twirus, that was by far, far, far my least favorite part of the chapter, and I hope we see as little of this character as possible. That thing is obviously not Twilight and doesn't even really have anything to do with Twilight, except for sharing her coat colors (whatever that even means for a shapeshifting entity). It's effectively a new OC that puts the actual Twilight on pause when it's on screen.
And personally I don't find that fun to read at all in a story that's otherwise about the mane 6 having to cope with their newfound natures and powers. Twilight Sparkle didn't even exist in this chapter. It's like having Discord pop in, replace Pinkie Pie with a discorded Pinkie Pie clone and then swap them back out once the action ends. Pinkie Pie, no matter how distraught afterwards, has nothing to do with what actually happened and isn't in any way, shape or form responsible for what the discorded Pinkie did while the actual Pinkie was unavailable through no fault of her own. Like, what's the lesson here? Another personality that's been forcibly injected in your head can take control of you at any time? Uh ... yay?
Same deal with Twilight here. And if anyone actually tries to pin any "blame" on her for what just happened, when it's obvious the virus is doing freaky things with her mind through no fault of her own, they would deserve a deck in the teeth for being both a massive jerk and a massively oblivious dumbass. Like, if this was the only chapter of the story it would be wrong for it to have the Twilight tag, because no Twilight Sparkle was actually present during this chapter.
So ... yeah. The less we see of this "Twirus", the better in my eyes. The adventures of the mane 6 as they deal with their newfound situation is what entices me here, and having that reduced to mane 5 minus Twilight but plus one OC whenever a "violent" situation comes up (or any other situation that removes actual Twilight from the equation and forces this other personality to emerge that doesn't actually have anything to do with Twilight) would only detract from it, in my eyes
8767987 Thanks and I'm glad you're looking forward to more!
On the subject of Twirus. I understand you're concerns with the character, and while I believe she does in fact share some traits with regular Twi, she is for the most a far cry from the mare.
However, Twirus exists for a reason - just like berserker Fluttershy and Pinkie's 'Voice'. Like you said, none of the Mane 6 have a grasp on their new abilities yet. This is doubly true for Twilight and her 'condition'.
As far as I'm concerned the story is just beginning and each character has a lot of room to grow. So although you may not like it, I will be exploring the concept of Twirus and how it affects Twilight more in the future.
Tl;Dr: Twirus is going to be important in developing Twilight's character, among some other plot related things so just bear with it awhile, it'll get better.
8767864 It's not exactly that though. Think back to how Twilight was describing her experience to Rarity and it starts to sound like something else. Something that's probably worse.
8769141 8767987 By the by, if you guys are looking for a more wholesome Twilight, I suggesting reading The Ties that Bind. It's still a dark story but it has more of a focus on relationships so it might be right up your alley.
"I need you two to get behind the golem while Rainbow and Fluttershy are distracting it," she asked without taking her eyes off the golem, "there should be a glowing runic circle on the nape of it's neck. See if you can climb up and stab it - and try not to draw too much attention to yourselves."

Well then, it seems that Flutters and bookhorse are a bit more... unhinged than the others. Also, I REALLY hope tey behave like normal people around civilians.
It really did sound like Twilight now has another personality in her - a really dangerous one at that.

Be careful what you wish foooor~!

True that. It's kind of why i previously decided to call that side of her Eclipse.
Well, it's official.

Agreed. Also, the red text is... annoying, tbh.

Applejack, do you want Twilight to slice you in two? Cause that clearly looks like what your asking for right now.
