The House of Path has many unusual members. These are episodes in the lives of several of them. Can a changeling queen learn to love? Can an immortal alicorn deal with death? Can an ordinary pony learn to deal with life?

And I was just about to go to bed, too.
OH WELL GOT SOME PONY WORDS TO READ.
Nice eulogy to Rainbow Dash.
Briliant as ever
Question Goldie, are there now two sets of EOH?
To be honest, I believe that Twilight's friends would be every bit as immortal as her thanks to their links to the power of harmony. I know in your universe there's not so much ponies linked to harmony as there are ponies who represent aspects of harmony, and thus are capable of summoning that power, so my belief doesn't mean much here.
8082626 Well not as of this Chapter. Twilight is still around obviously, but there was Twilight and friends then Destined and friends at the end of "Quantum Gallop"

If you're talking about the objects, yes, although the originals stay on the Tree of Harmony.
If you're talking about the Element Bearers, there could be more. "Quantum Gallop" showed that under the right circumstances, more Bearers could come into being. If you reduce that to being Avatars of Harmony like Sunset Shimmer was in "A Different Perspective", there could be lots more.
this reminded me of that story, "the quest", where an alternate reality Twilight actually captured her friends' souls and put them into pocket universes connected to statues of them. she could still talk to them that way...
8083125 okay it was soundling liek the mane 6 stopped beign Avatars when Destine's group went EOH.
This chapter really spoke to me.
- This is exactly what Rainbow would have wanted. No tears at her funeral. A rainbow to remember her by. I expect the service would have been followed by a party recounting how awesome she was. Pretty much, that's the party we had for my father. Maybe for sentimental reasons, this was one of my favorite chapters Goldfur has written.
- Only alicorns get to be immortal in the MLP universe, and no one can accuse Goldfur of scrimping on those.
- Generational change is essential for us mortals. The non-alicorn element bearers qualify as that.
- In storytelling that spans more than one generation, transition has to happen.
- What would Celestia be doing right now if she spent a day mourning each generation of ponies that she loved? More and more of her time would be lost to her new ponies. This chapter tells that their memory will always live on in the immortal beings that loved them is the only practical solution, and the only one that they would have wanted.
8088320 You don't have to start having children when you're in your twenties, you know? And I'm one of those who ascribe longer lifetimes to MLP ponies, so fifty isn't so bad. Then again, I could have saved myself a lot of trouble just giving them some half-grown children, I suppose. It's not critical to the story.

Good thinking. although instead of immortal, they might just have gotten an extended life. the chapter doesn't mention just HOW old RD was when she passed on.
The Immortal Curse. To live forever.
So many stories get it wrong for the sake of drama-- often with Twilight doing a canary dive off the Canterhorn at the end.
I'd like to think that Twilight is smart enough to see it the way I would; that, instead of just mourning the friends you've lost, you should celebrate that more are to come.
the Alicorn curse as it is called.
i know of a few story's / chapters about it.
i think this one will rang #2 on my list it is vary good and i love it.
but hear is my #1 the pain of eternity
