Back in 2013, i started to get interested in MLP fan-fictions. The Monster Below was one of the first fics i started with. One of the fictions that got me into this fascination of fan-fictions. A month ago i checked again hows the progress, and seeing how close to the end is it now, i decided to revisit the whole story again. 3 days ago i finished the previous chapter.
It was hard to hold back tears. Seeing an end to Silverspeak and Beakbreaker is something i dreaded. But every Story has to end, and i am glad and a bit irate its over now. I wanted to see how they continue, but after what both got put through, they have earned their rest.
The Monster Below is one of my most favorite arcs of FIMfiction. Thank you Greenback for the story you shared with us.
Excuse me while I wipe the tears away. Thank you, Green. I know it may be at least one more chapter but thank you for letting us follow Silver and Beak on this journey.
9671394 I'm honored that the first 'Monster' story affected you so much, Eye, and that you've stuck around to the end. Well, almost the end... the last chapter goes up on Friday. I hope it affects you as much as it affected me when writing it.
9671421 You're very welcome. It's a shock to realize that it's almost over after six years! But, as you pointed out, we still have one more stop before the end...
Aaand that's a wrap to the life of Silverspeak and Beakbreaker. It's actually pretty impressive how many things Silverspeak went through in his life. At this point, he's probably more famous than the Mane 6, considering he brought an end to a 20ish-year cataclysm that actually happened, unlike the Mane 6 who always prevented things just before they got out of hoof. I'm mildly surprised they retired to live in Canterlot instead of Saddle Lanka, but I suppose the latter has bad memories for Silverspeak (that, and rebuilding Canterlot would have been prioritised over that of Saddle Lanka).
I guess it's time for the two of them to go to the endless rolling fields of the great pasture beyond now.
9716248 You're correct about Saddle Lanka having too many bad memories for Silverspeak; with all the childhood bullying, the tunnels under the mountain, finding out his parents had Grogan's disease, and then fighting Mangus, Silverspeak had no desire to ever go back, even after it was rebuilt after the water was over.

That's an interesting take on the events of this chapter. I was going for somber, but hopeful, but this epic feel works, too.
