And finally caught up. My comments would probably have been helpful if I had started when you were first posting these chapters, but I've been working lots and had a huge horsewords backlog!
It really is rather fateful that their last clash would take place in Saddle Lanka. The prodigal son and the outcast have returned home. Decapitation should be sufficient enough for Mangus to finally be dead. I see Silverspeak's death experience mirrors what Beakbreaker mentioned earlier about her own death experience way back in the first story. If Silverspeak actually dies dies here, then I guess he'll finally get to meet Celestia...right while dying in her and Beakbreaker's hooves.
Something I still haven't seen answered is how did Silverspeak break free of his brainwashing? Nobody seems to have ever asked how or why it occurred, including Silverspeak, and that seems to be a curious lapse. My best guess as I've mentioned earlier is that his brain tumor developed to such a stage that it negated whatever spell or technology was used to brainwash him. A less-like second possibility is that Mangus had it deactivated so Silverspeak could see the horrors that he had wrought, just as Mangus was about to end the world, in one last sadistic moment.
Thank god I learned how to skim.
This whole trilogy is nonstop train ride of dark pop culture references with no payout cause the author can’t bring themselves to play it straight.
If this story ends on a "good" note then I have the... almost perfect song for it. If you're intrested.

I'm always interested in hearing songs that readers bring up!

I'll PM it. Don't want to give others spoilers.
