Princess Luna; The Glories of the Night

Oh lovely Night!
Who hath not seen thy stars winking amidst thy tapestry of space?
Who hath not gazed at thy cosmos for hours?
Who hath not witnessed thy art that blossoms across the world?

Oh sonorous Night!
Fill us with thy melody of cricketsong and violin, thy blinking wings of spark
Empty us of our worldly worries, pour into us thy song of dusk
Clear the daystrife with thy beauteous stream of chorus, thy nightsong

Oh wondrous Night!
Fill us with thy glorious shine of night, rid us of our chains
Create thy art, thy chorus, not for worldly gain but for the joy of creation
Teach me to create for art’s sake and not for fame

Oh distant Night!
I reach to thy winking stars that slip from my grasp, I trod to hear the cricket’s violins but they silence at my approach, I try to touch grasp thy art
But thou art beyond my mortal comprehension, oh Empress of Shadows
And thy art cannot be confined within my words

Oh sad Night!
Do not weep as the sunsets, for thou hast equal beauty privileged to the open heart
Thy beauty is comfort in dreams, Thy beauty is release from pain, Thy beauty is dissolving our flesh in thy radiance and magnifying us to eternal calm and eternal glory
As thy moon reflects sun’s light, so we reflect your light, unable to produce thy beautiful rays within ourselves alone

Oh lovely Night!
Who hath not stared upon thy canvas brimming with true life?
Who hath not welcomed your restful embrace?
Who hath not longed to paint a portrait worthy of thy beauty?
