OK so i'm confused about the whole burning canterlot invasion scene. It looked more like he was showing Luna exactly what he could do than any kind of nightmare. It is possible for the Dusk's mind conjure that kind of image by mixing the memories of Ceras and himself in the form of a nightmare but with the context it that doesn't fit quite right. And we would have seen some ponies with rifles and what not.

8004087 The dream was during Dusk's transformation in the Zerg pod. This is Dusk's own dream of the possible future, it has nothing to do with Ceres. Also Luna is the one who saw it as a nightmare not Dusk (Can you really blame her?). Also Dusk didn't plan for Luna to come but used the situation given to him anyways.
