Interesting. So many attitude changes...
We wonder how Razz got his knowledge, or if it's mostly dumb luck he came as specifically armed as he did. At first we thought it a dream, now? Not so certain...
Keep going! ;)
After the predator and destruction has gon its always a good thing to regroup and rebuild your numbers.
If Spring isnt careful, what with Squiddy nearby, she might find out her spells having more power in effect, along with effects she didnt power.
Years to months, months to days, days to hours. Equines and Canines, her results littered with Chaos.
Only one would dare give me the Razzberry.
I wonder, will spring make him virile enough to get Tabitha pregnant even if not ovulating/in heat? It's magic, it doesn't need to make that much sense. How would she react to that?
Also, a boon. One as strong as Tabitha's? Will he become that much of a badass? Or will he still be tabs' second?
has
Not sure if intended but should it be 'you, you'
and
I wonder where he did learn all this?
Me thinks Horpip is playing revenge within the caretakers rules rather well.
So, at first I was like "oh no, Razz! Stay good, Razz! Stay good!"
Then I was like, "well it IS true that Spring likes this sort of attitude and has displayed a surprising open mindedness and resilience to the bitterness and revenge attitude. Maybe this is a decent plan?"
Then he starts asking on improvements and I'm ambivalent until he declares the last part, with matching longevity.
So... this chapter surprised me, yessir.
Hmmmmmmmmm....
Razz, this little shortcut to being a better "you" might be a bad idea...
However, Razz seems very instinctually oriented; it may be that Razz himself is more slave to his instincts than we originally observed.
There might not be a pony superego named Razz Berry in his pony brain, just a pony id and pony ego taking turns in his pony Chinese Room.
Scary thought!
7687917 I do my best. Razz will not be the third wheel of the relationship.
7687914 Typos thrown out onto the street!
O a interesting twist in this chapter.
Razz this is not the way as I am sure you will come to learn.
Razz...
I am exceptionally impressed with Razz, here! I'm not sure he needs Spring's magic to work between his legs: he's already got giant balls for pulling this off!
More seriously, this was a plan that might seem crazy on the surface, but was actually "crazy like a fox" in implementation. Although I don't think he's formally realized it, Razz stumbled onto a fundamental truth: you can't gain something great without risking danger. It was necessary to face Spring down to earn her favor like that, and he did so masterfully. He quite brilliantly utilized the various weaknesses of her nature as a fey against her (I'm presuming that there was a trip to the library involved, at some point) and did the same thing for the peculiarities of her personality as well. It was reckless, but not what I'd call foolish.
Moreover, I'm impressed with the level of personal growth that he's shown in doing this. The old Razz wouldn't have had the bravery to try this; he would have just quietly whimpered to himself about what he wanted without ever making an effort to actually acquire it. Here, he did put in the requisite effort, and reaped the rewards, which were not only getting to live his personal sex fantasy (he's a pervert for humanoid women, remember), but also gain greater power and ability to boot.
That he had also realized that such power and ability was a necessity was also a sign of his maturity. As much as this seemed like him satisfying his own desires, the story made it plain that he knew it was more than that. It was about wanting to not die before his mates/wives/girlfriends. It was about having enough power to stand by them the next time there's a huge fight breaking out, since if he'd been there this last time he'd have been useless at best, or injured or killed at worst. This was him doing what he had to do to pull his own weight.
With Coco's unexpected departure, Razz is the one who's going to be Spring's primary point of reference for how to learn to respect and love someone as an equal. In return, Spring is going to be the one who helps Razz to become (as Diamond Tiara once sang) the pony he wants to be. Not just in terms of physical/magical ability, but in terms of his mindset as well. I see this as the two of them starting to figure out how to relate to each other (more so than whatever that aborted talk they were having last chapter was), which is the next thing to figure out, since they both know how to relate to Tabitha.
Good for you, Razz!
7690633 You can't see it, but you're making him turn all red. Spring seems amused by the whole thing.
What will Tabitha think of the subtly enhanced Razz and the tale of how he battled to earn it? It seems inevitable that Spring will speak of it, and perhaps overstate some parts of it to amazing degrees.
You should have seen it. It was a literal hail of arrows. He nimbly dodged one to the next as if dancing...

As always, it was a good chapter, but I did spend about half of it wondering when Spring or Razz would wake up, possibly after a friendship lesson from Princess Luna.
I'm with Spring in wondering where on
earthEquestria Razz learned about the properties of cold iron, ash berries and oats.Actually, the oats are a new one for me too and I had to smile a bit to imagine that poor Razz smeared himself with boiled oatmeal before he figured out that they don't need to be cooked to work as a ward.
And so I'm left wondering where or who the source of his information about the sidhe came from. Best guess would be Horpip as first choice and Dark as secondary.
7691766 I performed the arcane ritual of a Google search to brush up on a nice handful of folk wards and protections against the fair folk. Against one as powerful as Spring, each was a minor negative, though having them all heaped up in a pile was a considerable detriment.
It worked out in the end, with both getting what they wanted.
What will Tabby say?
WELL... hello hallway, its a good fic
it took me a long time but i did a binge reading, 24 hours shifts make your mind go in strange places and its good i had my ebook.
so start to current finish in about a day and a half.
like in silver verse it was fun to see the new characters, bubbles trap and razz are a nice trio with trap getting human input with dark as a help.
spring... i loved the change from cold "evil" to a friendly elf with a fetish for ponies and domination ending with razz claiming her after being beta was not for him.
Squiddy is fun, and i think at a point we will have him with discord again, after all he did promise to chit chat.
and we go to the main charterer, Tabitha another human but ending up as a centaur of a sort... like her development in general.
sad to see coco moving away from the family
7692346 Welcome to the front! Great to hear you had a good time, and it's not even over yet :D

Ah, I was too specific in my Google query and once I broadened it slightly I found your sources. I was mistaken, it is cooked oatmeal that is a ward against the fey, maybe because it would have been cooked in an iron pot? Fascinating the things that folks will believe and do to protect themselves from the unknown; messy too.
On the matter of protection, it's fortunate for Spring that the iron horseshoe that Razz was still wearing did not touch her as they were... sharing an intimate moment. It would have been decidedly uncomfortable for her if her accommodation magic had been disrupted mid-act, though perhaps she would have liked that even more.
I think Razz went a little overboard, but then again I never cared if I was alpha.
Despite my extreme disdain for the elf, I feel like Razz took that too far.
