Twilight Sparkle discovers that Sunset Shimmer still has some leftover emotional baggage from her past, and peels through Sunset's emotional walls to find out a really big secret.
That's what I thought too, until my story failed moderation. I haven't published the offending chapter yet, but the approver read it and required me to change the rating.
(Spoiler warning: plot to the EQG Holiday Special follows)
I'm pretty sure it was all of the cmc, not just AB. Or at the very least AB and Sweetie. If I remember, we only got 2 hangouts, Pinkie's and Rarity's before they broke off with Sunset. I can't remember with AJ and AB, but I remember at Rarity's, Sweetie Belle wanted to hang out and Rarity basically told her no, that she wasn't allowed.
Yeah, looking at it right now, AB's problem I don't understand too much. AJ left, but AB still had Big Mac and Granny. Sweetie Belle however, I do understand. Because she lives alone with just Rarity, and Rarity pushed her out and sent her to bed alone, just so Rarity could have a sleep over with her friends. AB starting it, I don't get, but Sweetie I can understand doing it.
Sunset Shimmer grinned as she finished munching on a slice of mushroom. She seemed more animated now, and better resembled her usual self. “The Palace civil service will happily form a committee to research the long term effects of that petition. What’s important is that they’ll take years to finish their report, if ever, and by the time they do, everyone who matters will probably have forgotten about it and moved on. In the meantime you don’t have to sign it and the nobles can’t accuse you of siding against them because putting it to committee looks like you’re doing something about it.”
Hit like if you'd vote Sunset Shimmer in the upcoming election rather than those we have to choose from.
Hey, say what you want about their platforms, at least Clinton and Sanders aren't 12 year olds that sling shit at each other over fucking Twitter. Unlike fucking Cruz and Trump.
Carbonara... "sauce"? I guess it's sort of like that, though I've never considered it such.
But no, store-bought? That's not really a thing, I hope? My confusion only grows the more I think about it. Like , it's so easy -- basically just eggs, cheese, and pepper tossed with hot pasta; recovers 60% HP and 40% TP for the whole party -- that I have no idea why you'd settle for something from a jar. Especially considering what's in it , what goes into shelf-stabilising food, and the low price of eggs...
It didn't even have the pork.
... Could it be that Sunset is ALSO a hopeless basketcase at cooking and just better at hiding it?
I hope the Cutie Mark crusaders got really punished for that incident.
All my friends told me I was overreacting.
That's because you were over-reacting. You were right, but it was pretty much by accident. I mean, two of your key pieces of evidence were "throwing away food she didn't ask for after thanking the person who gave it to her" and "casting a spell you don't recognize which could literally be anything on your brother". If you'd known it was harmful, of course, that would have been different, but if you'd known you wouldn't have swallowed the headache cure explanation.
8176602 True, but the whole "Cadance's aura has changed color" bit still makes me want to slap Celestia and Twilight upside the head (mostly Celestia, though).
8187999 I'm not entirely convinced characters in the show(as opposed to the audience) can actually see that. I've never once heard anyone mention it. And I don't just mean the color or in that episode, I mean seeing telekinesis auras at all on the show. Otherwise, yeah, you'd think that would draw some attention.
10251449 To be fair, I've had some pretty bad experiences with can openers, during a phase for most of a year when my father kept wanting a specific canned food which never comes in a can with a pull tab (and I could swear the cans in question were some kind of extra-strength ones). The electric opener broke down almost immediately. The replacement? I still can't haven't gotten any can of any kind opened with it, two years later - I just haven't gotten around to deciding it needs to be thrown away yet. I wore through three manual can openers, finding the only one which didn't break was the basic no-moving-parts claw punch. It takes a surprising amount of time to gouge out enough openings around the circumference of a can to be able to pry or cut out the remainder of the top.
Eventually found and adopted one of the newer manual models that focuses on going through the glue around the top rather than the metal. That worked great. Up until my father switched to wanting something which came in a square can sans pull tabs. All in all, I've found can openers to not be one of the easier parts of preparing food.

Its totally a thing. Some brands are actually even pretty yummy.
There's a reason I keep telling people that Nightmare Moon is basically teenage Luna in her emo phase.
I hope the Cutie Mark crusaders got really punished for that incident.

In this short on the official Hasbro YouTube channel Celestia mentions magic auras and how each magic user has their own signature color.
